Socket 939. I forgot to include that in the title.

$20 rebate, expires 3/31/07. 1 year warranty on the CPU through AMD. Shipping was $6.99 for me. Fatcash pays 3% @ TD, so that's $3.60 back if you use it.

I already have an AC Freezer 64 and I don't have to pay tax at TD so I got it there instead of the $130 + tax retail one at newegg.

If you don't want to deal with a rebate, newegg also has the OEM one for $118.99 with free shipping: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103561

Ever since they sent me an OEM Celeron with an entire row of pins bent I've been wary of buying cpus at TD. Because of that, plus the shipping cost and the potential long wait for rebates. I decided to just bite on the oem newegg deal.

Does anyone know if this Newegg's price is a special Sale price is it the regular that I can get it later?

whoa...when did newegg get the x2 3800+ 939 back in stock? I have been waiting forever for them to offer it again. BOUGHT

It's odd that there are zero customer reviews for that Newegg link to the S939 X2 3800+. Is Manchester a new variant for this CPU?

It's because they probably recently added the OEM version. Look at the retail page, there are tons of reviews.

Strange, I have bought tons of stuff (including 4 cpus) from them and not once had any problems with them or any rebates that they have offered.

That being said, im in for one for my media center.

No offense, but check your sources. Or rather, check their sources.

Don't shoot the messenger, that's the warranty that the product page above states: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2927576&Tab=7&NoMapp=0

This product has a limited warranty of:
12 months for parts and 12 months for labor.
This warranty is provided by AMD.

I got the CPU today and it did 2.8GHz right off the bat. :D I'll play around with giving it more voltage tomorrow.

Definately it is dual core, and your FX53 is single core.

That is what I was thinking, but I have been so out of the loop on hardware recently since I haven't had the money to upgrade religiously liek I used to.

my trusty $50 144 is still kickin it @ 3.1ghz

i'm not spending any more money on pc parts unitll i build a whole new rig for DX10

I'll probably skip over dual cores, ddr2, and all the current high end DX9 cards

still a good deal for what it is though...
