I am kinda on the fence about which to get the powerstream 520 or the 600. i am fine with getting either but the deciding factor is stability, the 520 is a single rail and seems to be the best for DFI boards (i got an ultra-D) the 600 is dual rail. i want something that is future proof so the 600 seems like the rigth choice. but the rail differences have me second guessing.. little advice? i just RMA'd my enermax i think it was the cause of my constant shutdowns when i tried to play any games..

Edit: just found this "SILVERSTONE SST-ST56ZF ATX12V/ EPS12V 560Watts" 38amp on the 12v rail. any word on this bueat?

I have the Powerstream 520 and am happy with it.

The only thing I would say is that this is my second Powerstream as my first one died after a powercut and I had it RMA'd. It took about 10 days to RMA it, but it was around Xmas so I could suggest that acceptable. No major problems in RMA'ing it and they even let me send to a UK address to forward onto themselves so that I wasn't paying overseas shipping costs. Got a brand new unit no questions asked.

It's good to know that if something goes wrong, which inevitably something is bound to go wrong at one point or another (that's called 'life'), you have bought from a company that will put right exactly what went wrong.

Would recommend OCZ for this fact alone.

OEM Etasis, who competes with the likes of Zippy and PC P&C in the industrial market. Some of these have been coming with the 12v set low from the factory, but Silverstone's been good about letting people open them up for tweaking.

I have yet to recommend the OCZ 600W for any system, and at this point probably never will. The 520W is plenty, and in the unlikely event you still need more 12v that Silverstone will gladly help you out.

For a little more you can get a 600 watt modular version, the Strider.

Always wondered..

The specs on the 520 are:

+3.3 +5 +12
28-40-33

And the 420,

+3.3 +5 +12
28-30-30

Is that extra little bit (10a on +5, 3 a on +12) REALLY worth the $40+ over the 420?

Totally different animal. The ST60F is a quad rail and the ST56 is a single 12V rail.
