OC failure, board not posting

I was trying to OC my G0 Q6600 to get a little more life out of this chip, and now my board does not post. I tried switching the jumper and powering on, as well as removing the battery for a couple a couple of minutes and then trying again, but it still does not POST.

Did I hose my chip/board? Specs in sig.
 
go back to basics, unhook mostly everything, use 1 stick of ram and do process of elimination,.

Originally, I was trying to get my chip up to 3Ghz. I went in and was slowly adjusting the FSB up to 315 with no issues, so I decided to just go for it and up it to 333. I was not manually adjusting Vcore through this process.

At this point, when I restarted the mobo remained stuck on the Intel splash screen, so I tried rebooting again and now it doesn't output anything on the display. I took your advice and disconnected everything but the primary HDD and 1 stick of RAM, and it still doesn't seem to help. (I also replaced the card with my 8600gts just so I had more space to work with in the case).

I'm now going to try moving my processor to my secondary rig to see if I can get it working there, but please let me know if you have any other suggestions. I tried moving the CMOS jumper and booting with the jumper in that position, but this doesn't cause a discernible change either in behavior.
 
Try this:

(1) Power off everything. Unplug the power cord from your PS.
(2) Remove the CMOS battery and leave it out for an hour or so.
(3) Place the CMOS jumper in the "clear" position for same amount of time.
(4) Press and hold in the case's power button for a few minutes to help drain any juice left in your mobo.
(5) After an hour has passed, reinsert battery, move jumper to "normal" position, plug in your PS power cord and boot up. Good luck!

This might seem a bit excessive, but I recall people having to do this with their boards (DFI???) in the past when they had a bad overclock.
 
Whew. Chip is confirmed working, popped it into my secondary rig. Will wait and try again on the bad axe 2.

Thanks fsh and system! I was just flipping out over the potential loss in hardware but I think I'm a little more relaxed now haha.
 
I have a bx2 board and I copied this post in 2007. I think people were overclocking to far and the board would not post again. This poster posted the way he solved the problem. I don't know if it will work for you but you can try it to see if it will help.
1) Place the bios jumper in recovery mode---- (3)(2)1

2)Turn power on, with single or double memory in their slots and you will hear 3 beeps.

3)Turn off computer, remove the memory, unplug the power cable and push on the power switch. You'll see that the proc's fan will start and stop quickly.

4)Put back one of the ddr memory in a slot, plug the power cable in and turn power on. PC should boot and go to the bios recovery menu.

5)Load optimized default settings, quit bios saving changes. You'll see this ( or something like this) on you screen " Shut down your computer and replace your bios jumper to the normal mode ".

6)Reboot your computer and should boot ok.

I hope this works for you.
 
Thank everyone. I tried all methods, including leaving the bios battery out for 24 hours. rpchip, I tried your method as well, but the board doesn't even beep when I have no memory on (it usually gives out a nice long angry beep at that).

I think the board is well and truly fried, unless someone has some other magical solution I havent thought of. If so, do let me know!

And thanks all once again. On a somewhat related note, does anyone have a guide to OCing a q6600? I'll be trying again on a new board.
