nvidia working on SLi version 2?

One question and one response:

Question: Is it true that g70 can be used in sli with nv4x?

Response: The ATi SB is buggy, ATM. However, ULI makes rock solid stable chips, they just aren't as well known in US and EU as they are in Asia. DFI already has a lanparty xfire board which uses ATi NB and SB, so it is possible, just difficult, for whatever reason.

Its pretty much impossible for that to work jebo. The cards have many different hardware features at the low level, so the G70 would have to drop things to meet the Nv4x cards, it just would be a nightmare for everyone involed.

I thought so....but then everybody started talking about mixing and matching cards and.....I got confused :confused:
I think somebody in the "HardOCP Crossfire Preview" thread mentioned using existing pcie cards with g70. Moving right along......

You wouldn't want to. G70 may be a little broader in SLi support than the current 6x00 series is now. But you've got to have the cards in the same family. Even with ATi's Crossfire the cards have to have the same pixel pipelines and vertex shaders, as well as memory. Expect that to be the case.
