rancor said:Who cares what ya think this post if for Linux users lol, if you don't use Linux don't post here its irrelevent to you. Linux users don't need a windows users input because they don't use Linux, nothing personal, just sounds kinda rough.
On a side not if ATi improves their Linux drivers it would automatically improve thier Ogl performance under windows.....
Also Linux supports Sm 3.0 since its part of Ogl 2.0, and if ATi has extensions for 3dc in Ogl then yes that too is supported in Linux too
First off it is a public forum so of course anyone can chime in. And you can simply "brush away" my post and disregard it for hoo-ha.
The thread is about benches for linux from a well known ATi basher (so he's trying to prove a point).
My original post (which understandly can be forgotten) was mentioning how these cards are pretty useless in a large scale in that regard of a gaming platform since they are gaming cards. People responded to that and I responded and agrued my case.
As for SM3 and 3Dc, I was trying to do a comparison about linux and special features.
Sm3/3dc useless if no one programs for it. Linux gaming-useless if no one makes games for it so buying one of these cards is an expensive flush down the toilet. And i'm not talking trickled down games here and there
