nVidia GPU Client Not Working (X2!...ARGH!)

Hey guys.
I'm having a WEE bit of problems getting this new GPU client up and happy on my various rigs.
Firstly, the probably easy one:
I have a laptop with a Quadro FX 570m in it. I have the CUDA drivers on it as well. F@H will not run, saying it's not on approved drivers (which is is, the 174 CUDA drivers), or an unsupported card (Once again, it's a CUDA compatible card). Ideas? (BTW: XP Pro 32bit)

The more frustrating problem is this:
I have got a 9800GTX in my main rig. I downloaded and installed the hacked .inf so I could install the CUDA 177 drivers on it. (Vista Home Premium 32bit). I get them all installed and happy, and then it just starts kicking out Unstable_Machine errors like it's the program's job. The card isn't overclocked (not even from the factory), and has plenty of power running to it. I'm at a SERIOUS loss. Ideas?

Thanks!

just shooting in the dark...

did you successfully install the video driver first?

how about the tooklit and the SDK?

I've installed the drivers no problems. However, I did not know I needed the toolkit and SDK. I'll grab those on the unstable rig, and give it another whirl.

Any ideas on the 570m rig?

sounds weird, i only installed the CUDA drivers and the GPU client and was good to go

If u continue to have problems with your cards, you can always send those cards to me for further examination ;), after the testing runs i would obviously return them to you, although i reckon the testing time would be around a couple of years

You don't need the CUDA toolkit or SDK to run F@H. You don't even need the toolkit or SDK to run compiled CUDA applications.

How much video mem is on the 570m? For CUDA, you need 256MB *minimum*. This is just a guess, but maybe F@H needs more.

Ok....Even WITH the SDK and Toolkit installed, I'm still getting the righteous shaft. My 570m has 256mb of memory on it, and it's supported by CUDA OFFICIALLY...so I THOUGHT it'd be good to go.

As for the Unstable_Machine errors....I'm really at a loss honestly. My next post up will have a log file excerpt, so all you F@H gurus can see what's going on.

I just read a post elsewhere that says you DO NOT need the SDK and the toolkit. Too late for me... I installed those anyway.

Well...one fire put out. I grabbed a different version of the 177 CUDA drivers, and a different hacked INF, and reinstalled them on my desktop. Now it's happily chugging away on GPU units. Yay for PPD there!

Now just to see if the same will work on my laptop...

Has everyones client been working still? Mine still hasn't had any work since yesterday afternoon.

Mine has finished about 12 WU's since late last night.
