NVidia can't do independent res?

Just wondering, I just moved from ATI to NVidia (GeForce 6800 non-ultra) and I can't seem to get my two monitors to run at independent resolutions.

Monitor 1: 1280x768 widescreen
Monitor 2: 1024x768 normal

I can only get 2048x768 using the "horizontal span" mode in nview...

Is there a way to get windows to recognize the 6800 as having two separate monitors so I can place them and change their resolutions to my liking in the windows display box?

Are you trying to use Nview? You don't have to. All you have to do is go into Display properties, click on the monitor you want, set the resolution you want, and hit apply.

hrmm, I found "Dualview" in nView, which seems like it should do what I want it to do, but it doesn't seem to be working (only will display on one screen).

Additionally in regular properties my monitor is only detected as a single display as opposed to two separate monitors.

turning on dual view and restarting seemed to fix the problem (I could go into display properties and select resolutions just like you said)

that is odd

I play a lot of emulators off my TV at 1024 while my pc screen 1280x1024

go into nview properties

use the display wizard

go into advanced

and you should be able to figuere out what you want from there

it most certainly can handle it..
