I've got a RPC-4224 that has 2 bad backplanes that I need to replace. I've done some research and found 2 diferent ones on IPDirect. Which is the right one and if either will work, what's the diference between the two? Which is better? Here's a link to the ones I'm looking at - http://www.ipcdirect.net/servlet/Categories

Mine currently has the green ones. I would like to get the ones with brighter LEDS but heard there are problems with them. Advice is needed.

Thanks

Richard

The brown one there has been shipping since november.

For me, they replaced one of my newer ones with and older one, and the older one leds are not as bright, and the lights are flopped, and the middle two drives led's don't display at all.

First step is contacting Mike at Norco and explaining the problem. I'll PM you the email address. Very often they'll end out replacements free of charge, which is not a level of service you expect considering the price points they sell their products at versus how hard it is to get any kind of replacement from Supermicro, Chenbro and others whose cases cost 5x-6x as much.

Also you should consider posting about this in the official Norco thread since this question gets asked with some frequency and you'll get more feedback from other owners. http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1498268
