Norco 4224 and Areca 1880 updates?

Any of our experts have an update on timeline, price, 1680 price drops, and expected issues?
I'm getting very itchy and want to buy a Norco 4220 and Areca 1680i. I already have a pile of Hitachi 2TB drives and the HP SAS expander (thanks SynergyDustin!) I'm reaching the limits of my current system and its either perform a delete and cleanup session, or float a drive on the top of the case.

Everything is pointing to first quarter 2010 but no product listing or pre orders yet.
Anyone else have the itch or waiting impatiently?

I also wonder if getting the "known working" products now is better than jumping into the new product area and dealing with product bugs and frequent firmware releases. Thoughts?

did we really need another thread on these? Areca 1880 already tested working with HP SAS expander. All other information will be posted in the threads you linked. Whether to buy existing parts available now depends how fast you need the storage. If you can afford to wait a month or at the most two, wait.
