i built my first computer a while back, and i had a celeron processor with bundled heatsink/fan. it was supposed to be a 'test' computer.. just to make sure i dont kill too much $ incase i did somethin horribly wrong. anyway... after it was built, i went into bios, and the cpu temp was starting at about 45 and stopping at about 50. (celcius). is this too hot?

I've no idea what socket your talking aboot but if its 478 prescott celery then yer, that seems good enough. Pressies are stupidly hot, worst move by intel ever IMO to replace the northwood.

If you're hitting those temps at idle, you might want to check and see in Windows what you are getting under a load. Just a thought though.
