mother board: gigabyte ma790xt-ud4p
video card: gigabyte gv-n95toc-1gi

What ive done so far:
Went over to friends house. His new build gets no video on boot up. he tested 2 monitors, tested the vga and the DVI ports. he re seated to make sure its plugged into mobo a couple times. I checked to see if it needed power cord from power supply but it doesn't. i re seated it myself. I took the video card to my house and before i even turned my computer on i removed my vid card and plugged his into my ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe and it worked flawlessly. I installed latest driver for the hell of it. ( im actually on H forum right now with his card).

So why is this card not working in his system???

did you clear the cmos/bios ?

try 1 memory stick, try different slots ?

hows the power supply ?

put your video card in his pc see if that works.

ok tried everything except clearing cmos. do i just put a jumper on it and turn it on or just put jumper on it for 5 seconds?

he brought over the pc but not his manual and that guide says to reset cmos but not how to do it

Pull the power cord from the PSU, pull the CMOS battery out, move the jumper for like 5 seconds, that should do it...

theres only 2 pins for clearing cmos so: remove battery and add jumper? or did they forget to have a jumper there at the manufacturer?... and then i remove the jumper with the battery out?

arg... just downloaded manual online and CANNOT find anything on resetting cmos

Weird.....I am stumped...I guess you could short the 2 pins...or just pull the battery for a few hours...that should do it....

but yeah, remove the jumper before reinstalling the battery...

EDIT:, just looked at the manual...so yeah, short those 2 pins....
