No R7 265 Review?

Yeah, the R7 265 will be available by end of February. It looks like a Radeon 7850 if going by the Stream Processor count, so it's based off the same silicon as the R9 270 and 270X.

It's a slightly faster 7850 (clock speed increase). Nothing super crazy to get excited about IMO.

From Anandtech:
Based on AMD’s venerable Pitcairn GPU, R7 265 will be filling this gap by bringing a variant of the Radeon HD 7850 back to the market, creating a 3rd tier Pitcairn product for the 200 series. Compared to the 7850 that it’s based on, R7 265 is receiving the same GPU clockspeed and memory clockspeed bump that the 7870-derrived R9 270 series saw last year that will make the R7 265 a bit faster than the 7850 it functionally replaces and making it better suited to fill the gap between the R9 270 and R7 260X.

We will be evaluating a retail custom card R7 265, plus the competitions card, which will be a new upcoming card, together when we have both. We wanted to wait and do the review right, with the right competing cards, instead of posting a couple of reviews that don't' make sense right now since pricing and competition lineup will be changing soon in that segment. We also wanted to do retail custom cards, instead of reference cards, to give everyone looking for a card in that price segment useful information on an actual manufacturer produced card.

750ti right? Seems it'll be efficiency vs performance. Based on the leaked slides, it appears the 265x is faster, but demands a lot more power.

Why even waste money on a dGPU if you're concerned with efficiency when you can just use Intel IGP.

Many sites are probably saving it for the nVidia release next week.

It may already be too late but if you guys have time it'd be nice to see a Kaveri system running dual graphics with a cheap 260x or 265 against that i5 based 300W system Nvidia proposes in the leaked slides.

So. The 750ti is about 15-20% slower. Depending on the testing. It closes that gap when substantially overclocked. It's ridiculously efficient though.

I guess it'll depend on what the user wants.

As predicted a few months ago R9 270/270X are hot now for mining. 265 is going to follow the same path considering that it only requires one 6-pin power connector and will also suffer from availability and price creep.
