Next Sunday 3/27 who here is excited and will be getting one or has had a chance to test it out since some retail stores have demo's up and running? I have mine pre ordered from Amazon and looking forward to it :)

Definitely getting one. Going in tomorrow to pay it off. What games should I get / What games are you guys getting?

It's cool and all, but I think i'm going to wait for a "3ds lite" or some hardwre revision. I can wait.

I was thinking of getting it, but the killer apps going to come later this year. So I will wait.

I plan on getting Lego Star Wars III, Street Fighter IV and Ghost Recon right away. There's a Resident Evil game coming out in July that looks pretty sweet.

Just cancelled my preorder after finding out that Pilotwings is a mess. The 3DS doesn't have much going for it. The 3D is a dumb gimmick that gives most people headaches, the launch lineup is HORRIBLE, the battery life is pathetic, no dual analog, and barely more powerful than a PSP. I was going to give it a shot because Pilotwings is a great series, but Nintendo basically bastardized it and replaced all the characters with Miis. Instead of a massive world to explore like Pilotwings 64, you get the island from Wii Sports Resort. The game can be beaten in a few hours. In short, it's a glorified tech demo rather than a true entry in the series.

Well that's disappointing, looks like may be waiting until later this year when more of the software is out. Especially if pilot wings is a mess.

I played with one last E3 for 10 minutes and I ... I wasn't impressed at all. I am not buying one.

I was wanting to get one untill I saw that the battery life was 3.5 hours and the DS has 19 . . . . that said it all for me

I will wait untill they release a better hardware revision, and also the launch lineup fails to excite me.

I might grab one over the summer, depending on the games that come out for it. Right now nothing makes me want to run out and buy it. OOT remake is cool, but I doubt I'll bother picking it up unless its an amazing remake that makes the game feel fresh and new. Mega Man Legends 3 might make me pick one up, but I want to see what it'll be like.

NGP will own 3DS. Yes it has 3D but most people are tired of 3D. And who wouldn't want a mini PS3 in your pocket opposed to a 3DS which playing in 3D only gives two hours battery life. Also for the 3D to work you have to be in a "sweet" spot which according to the IGN crew and others it's annoying to stay in the same spot. So I think that NGP will own 3DS.

First, you don't know what the price of the NGP is going to be, so saying that it will "own" the 3DS is speculation at best. By your logic shouldn't the PSP have "owned" the many variations of the DS?

Also, the NGP doesn't have the Nintendo IPs, which is what I am looking to the 3DS for. Mario still moves ALOT of units in the market place.

You can always spot the fanbois.

I really hope I can score a minty condition DSL for super cheap as a result of this lol.

Am I the only one that thinks the 3DS is kinda.. meh? Maybe I am getting old.

Nope, doesn't interest me in the slightest either and I'm still a big gadget freak. I dunno, I'm used to a big 3DTV and just cannot see me getting the whole 3D thing on a tiny screen. I'll try one when I get chance but I'll stick to my DSi XL for now.

To be fair the NGP doesn't really interest me either tho. I think it stems back to my PSPGo and the fact I probably used it about 4 times in a year......I just hate carrying two things around with me, the DSi XL never leaves my bedside cabinet drawer. I'm definitely more intrigued by the Xperia Play but that's because it's everything I may want in one device.

Your problem right there was you bought a PSPGo! instead of getting one of the older PSP models which you can unlock to their full potential by installing custom firmware, which allows you to do quite a bit, by that, i mean playing older system titles via emulator.

Ninja Gaiden in my pocket? YES PLS!

I wont be buying it until they release one without 3d and without the cost associated with 3d.

3D makes me sick literally.

I rarely pay the premium price for launch products anyways.

Maybe for Pokemonz....

For now my HTC Aria is all the mobile gaming I need.

The PSP did own the many variations of DS in terms of gaming experience offered. I could not care less about sales figures to pokemon-breathing seven-year-olds. I'm only interested in my personal enjoyment. By your logic mid-range graphics cards "own" high end graphics cards because more people buy them. Yet nobody would prefer the worse card to the better one. NGP is clearly the far superior system. I'm not going to lose any sleep over other people possibly not being able to afford it.

Shouldn't assume. I had 3 different variations of the older PSP....including a launch Jap 1000. They were all running CFW at some point in their life too. My problem, like I said, is I don't like carrying multiple gadgets around. I want the all in one.

The Go was actually a pretty cool device, I loved the from factor and the size and I had plenty of legit games bought from the store I just never carried it around, that's probably why the PLAY is so appealing for me....I have to carry it around as it'll be my phone too.

Played the demo of Pilotwings over at BestBuy yesterday and was impressed also it seemed very smooth defiantly looking forward to launch and 4 games, for those that are also picking it up on Sunday along with some games I recomend buying the games from Toysrus since they have buy 1 3DS game and get a 2nd 50% off.

1) Pilotwings
2) Ridge Racer
3) Star Wars
4) Street Fighter

That was ridiculous ahahaha

Wow that guy made a complete jackass of himself.... haven't seen stylus since the 90s? no cartridges since the last gameboy? Wow, I hate these so called technology experts that have absolutely no clue. The guy has no idea about the biggest selling console ever (Nintendo DS (cartridges, stylus, etc..) and the entire windows mobile line of pocketPCs (styluses)
He especially missed the point that like the PSPGO and also the Nintendo DSi, there will be plenty of games released via online channels that don't require cartridges either. Way to be a fool on national media. Too bad most people who watch CNN will A) not be interested in a DS, B) Believe everything he says because they are completely out of touch with tech even more so than the reporter.

I got an aqua blue with street fighter. Probably will get ridge racer next.

Street fighter is amazing. It looks remarkably close to the console versions.
The 3d effect is cool. No headaches and it plays great.

$250 was steep. I think it should have cost $200, but I haven't bought a new toy in a long time and I'm happy with it.

After playing with it in Best Buy I totally want one. The 3d effect definitely messes with your eyes a bit, but it's outstanding. I am real surprised how well it works. And the slider is perfect to adjust it just right where you need it to be.

I expect it to maybe get annoying after playing for longer times, but from what i can tell the effect is still outstanding.

Looking forward to Zelda coming out, then I may have to pick one up. Also expect a price drop right after christmas time, $250 is steep for a hand held.

I picked one up yesterday and im loving it so far. I just wish there were more games out at this point. It takes a little getting use to the screen, it looks great but my eyes arent the greatest and i def noticed a slight headache initially, however my 3dtv did the same thing when we got it and i got use to it.

Really looking forward to the resident evil games, zelda and a couple of the other new releases coming this year. Paper mario looks pretty cool too.

Picked mine up this morning and loving it so far. Grabbed Lego Clone Wars and Samurai Warriors. Played with the AR cards and the camera a fair bit as well. I'm actually liking the 3D a lot more than I though I would, it works very well.

The AR Stuff i didnt think id care about but after trying it wow. Easily one of the coolest things ive seen in years.

Yeah the AR stuff was funny. I put the first card on my leg and tried the archery. Thought someone put something in my drink. ;)

I will definitely try one out when I get the chance. Not so sure I'll rush out to buy one anytime soon. 250$ is still a little high for me, perhaps when they get down around 180$ or so I might reconsider buying one.

I gotta wait till one of my friends have the 3DS. I've demo'd it @ Grand Central in NYC, and when I was playing in 3D, I actually got dizzy. I never get dizzy in video games [PC or Consoles], and I play FPS competitively.

But you could switch from 3D to 2D with a 3D slider.

The 3DS w/o 3D is barely an upgrade from the DS. That said, I'm not even defending 3D for gaming or movies. Its all 100% a crock and NOTHING more than another gimmick to get you to buy another DS or another HDTV.

Fight the power, buy NGP. Buy a real next gen system.

???

The graphics have been upgraded to Wii-level.

Not only that but Apple dominating? I think he should be looking at overall Android sales figures :D The whole piece was ridiculous shite.
