NHL09 PS3 Team

Slowly finishing up some chores here, 11:15 is more realistic.
 
this is retarded. we need mrore then 2 people to play at a time. the computer sucks so bad. as in wide open blue line goals the goalie misses it.
 
Somebody please make the pain stop. I think I'm going to start recruiting a few guys outside of the forum just to get our numbers up.

sorry i couldn't make it, got into the sauce and trying to rid an old p4 2.0/512 of virtumonde.c trojan.... what a bastard it is to destroy. i think i'll tack on a mental anguish charge.
 
I think we're on a 5 or 6 game slide, and our only goal last night was a garbage goal where I basically crashed the net and it deflected between the goalie's legs.

Our problem currently is that even though we've been in great position defensively, random shots just keep going in. We lost a game last night and I think they had 5 goals on 10 shots, pretty much all of them just wrist shots. They even got a goal on a slapshot from the point and the goalie who wasn't screened just dropped to his knees and watched it sail top corner.

Our one bright spot over the last few days is we held a cheese team to one goal on many attempts at the cross-crease one timer. Unfortunately they still beat us in OT.

I think I need to start drinking something hard before we play, take the edge off.
 
ha ha ha, you'd be right on par with my regular routine then! :p

i'm gonna definitely jump on tonight, let's get some wins.

Our problem is that really we need more then 2 people to play at a time. If we get like 3 people playing tonight I might try defense and see how much better we do. But our computer defense is fucking pathetic most of the time and the goalie.... :rolleyes: idk what we should even do about that.

I just hope they patch in the ability to kick out from the crease cause that is getting so upsetting seeing it attempted over and over...

edit again --- anything with pshome? that might make it a lot easier to meet up for a game when this thing is going. did it launch yet? at work :(
 
hey, i've got a real-life goalie almost convinced to play goal for us on our team. he's got every console, i'm trying to pry him away from gears and at least play a couple of nights a week for us.

he'll be good eventually, he is a goalie.


he just needs the game, a headset and his gf's permission to buy the aforementioned items before christmas. heh heh


as soon as pshome launches for real, i'll buy a clubhouse and let y'all know the details.
 
We have another guy interested in joining, his name is aramik88. He has his pro card and plays D so he should be a nice help I think. His former team is having some issues so he's looking for one that's active and enjoys team play, hopefully we can provide that.

I tried to explain this to my mom when I was working on a p4 rig I was gonna get up to folding. She seemed really confused but was all for it. We do relay for life every year :D
 
I actually don't fold much on my PS3 these days, I'm bad. I have 8 other clients going though, maybe I should add my PS3 back into the mix.

Can't change the name unfortunately, but we could change our team slogan to 'For the [H]orde!' or something similar.
 
heh, i was moreso implying that folding@home could possibly benefit my mother's condition.

awesome that you're involved with the prospect of a cure for some horrible afflictions.

well i don't fold on my gpu's or my cpu either, so i'm the failure here.

any downtime on the ps3 = folding

ah, yea I know how you feel though, but not quite as close to home.

If it makes you feel any better, over the last 5 years our team has raised over 50k for relay for life =D

Ya, we need more people online. I had a couple invites out to other people but it looks like they probably won't join at the moment. I'm probably going to take a break from the game for the weekend, maybe that will help get me out of the scoring slump that I'm in (not that I was a prolific scorer before).
 
Well I thought we played alright tonight, but still the scoring slump continues. At least Movieesa got one to win the second game.

Sorry man, I'll send you a text on AIM next time. It was kind of a spur of the moment game, so I just sent messages to whoever was on.

Also we have a new teammate, his PSN is RayZab so if you like add him to your friends list and invite him to some games. I probably won't be able to play a game until later Sunday or after the football game Monday.

Also I'm going to switch the names listed on the front page to PSN ID's so new members can easily add us.

Not sure if we'll get more than 2 tonight, maybe tomorrow though. I'll be ready in a little bit and I'll send you a message on the PS3 when ready.
 
Changed us to an AHL team, bored of the Canucks and our luck with them had run out. Due to being an AHL team the captain will have to change jerseys before we play otherwise we'll be the same general colour.

Also we need to establish a set time for our game night. Tuesday at 8 EST works best for me, but Wednesday is possible as well. Let me know what time works best for you guys.

When we have the time set I'll start recruiting more on the EASHL boards, as the people there seem pretty serious about hockey. I think we should get to about 10-15 members max, as we seem to have 3 right now that are on regularly (possibly 4 with RayZab). It would be nice to have 5 nightly, but due to schedules that means at least 8-10 active players.
 
i'll be on this evening, good call on changing the names on the front page for easy psn id adds.
 
Tuesday or Wednesday are both good for me around 8pmEST. I'll probably be on for a little bit tonight around 10pmEST.
 
I can play more that school is out and stuff...I tried to help start this, but school and everything took over. But I am ready now until school starts back up...So add me if ya want...
