Nexus 500W- Good?

Very good, but...

It's a Fortron AX500-A with different colors, an extra PCI-E connector, Nexus quiet fan, and a higher price tag. I don't suggest using one for SLI.

I will probably never use it for SLI. I can get it for half the retail price though.

Worth it?

It will run the system in my SIG then?

Will it do 2x GTX in SLi?

Hmm, is the FSP one much better?

Or should I just go for the Tagan 530W EasyCon.

Thanks.

Yep.

I doubt it. You could try as long as you don't have a pile of hard drives and opticals to power, but overclocking may be limited. This is a 460W PSU - it can only take so much. The Sparkle FSP550PLG-SLI or FSP550-60PLG is the next model Fortron up that will do SLI.

Why the EasyCon? All of the sudden you want modular cables? The Nexus doesn't have modular cables. I don't get it? Do you want modular or not?

My impression of ePower/Tagan modulars haven't been too good: http://www.webhelp.org/jonnyguru/PSU/EP-550P5T1/EP-550P5T1.html

Well I want sleeved cables. The Nexus was going for very cheap so i was thinking of getting it over the Enermax Liberty or Tagan 530W Easycon.

I dont really like the modular style of the Enermax anyway,

Thanks for the replys people.

But you have to remember the Nexus is cheaper primarily because it's not modular.

People need to keep this in mind. If you don't want modular, don't get modular... because you'll get less for more.

Modular interfaces and cables cost more. LED fans cost more. Shiny finishes and windows cost more. If 10% of the cost of a power supply is tied up in useless features, then that's 10% less of a power supply you could get elsewhere for the same amount of money.

I've got nothing against bling or modular. I'm guilty of my share of useless bling. But when working with a budget, you need to immediately knock everything off your list that has features you're not going to use. And then you'll find your list has a lot fewer power supplies, but they're all excellent values.

Thanks jhonny.

What do you reccomend thats good value, will run my system and has sleeved cables?

Thanks alot.
