Why do they charge a restocking fee on a product that was defective? I even bought a replacement. I did email and asked them to waive the fee. Just seems that you've paid to have an item shipped, it's defective and then you pay to ship it back and then they charge you a restocking fee. That's nuts!!!

That's usually why i choose the RMA route with manufacturer. I'd rather pay shipping to them then a restock fee tacked on it.

Yea, I guess that's true. I'm a bit impatient when it comes to having a functioning PC and usually the manufacturing is going to replace it which can take a while. With Newegg I will usually buy a replacement and send the other back for the refund. I kinda feel also if I go ahead and buy the replacement it's not much different then waiting for them to replace it. They've waived it in the past a majority of the time. Just frustrated since I had to ship back 3 different cases, 1st was damaged in shipping they did pay for that return shipping, 2nd one was defective, paint and other issues, 3rd the front LEDs did not light. Anyway, just sorta of had to rant.

Dear Customer,

Thanks for taking the time to post your informative review. We greatly apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced due to your situation. Just to let you know, Newegg does not charge a restocking fee for defective items, DOA items, or sent wrong item. Most likely you issued your own RMA online in which yes it does charge you a restocking fee automatically but will be waived with no problem once you contact our customer service department. At your earliest convenience, please contact Alex at 800-390-1119 ( dial 25040 immediately ) or by email at alex.a.villarino@newegg.com for further assistance.

Well there you go :) Some good information there I wasn't sure on the restocking fee either.

There's a reason why newegg has their live chat option.. they are great and you don't have to wait on the phone either.
