dunno where else to put it up.. so here goes.

you guys who order full systems from newegg with the fedex saver shipping..

they dont leave that shit outside if you're not home do they? the fedex hub is like 10 mins away so its not a big deal for me to go pick it up later if i was to miss it..

so have you ever come home to a whole system sitting under your welcome mat courtesy of fedex?

FedEx will not leave the package unless you signed a release waiver. UPS will leave your package though ... even if it is raining ...

Allso find the time when you gonna get it and call in sick or something. ;)

I havn't had them ever leave a full system on my door but FedEx has left small orders like optical drives and what not on my doorstep with a little sticker on the door so they definately do leave packages if your not home. I dont know what their policy is for doing it though. They probably only do that on less expensive products or something.

yep, everything from newegg has been left, but when i ordered this comp we put a sign to leave shit by the back door, so i wouldnt have a huge box that said "cooler master" sitting in front of my house on a busy street

It all really depends on your local drivers and what they choose to do. FedEx is not supposed to leave packages unless you sign the waiver, but my FedEx driver usually marks down F. Rontdoor (Frontdoor) as the signature so it gets left. UPS guy on the otherhand won't leave anything without a signature even if it doesnt require one.

I get all my stuff delivered to my office at work. In some instances it is cheaper to ship to a business vs residential. Plus, someone is always there to sign for it and stick it on my desk if I'm out.

You're very lucky, most companies disapprove on personal deliveries to the office.

They leave smaller packages inside a screen door I have at my house...But larger ones they have you sign...

actually, ive used FedEx for a friend when we were building his computer and we were waiting at his house, watching a movie forever and we were like "dude, fedex didnt come :( :("
then we go and check the tracking thingy and it says that it was delivered so we're like "eh?"
we go to the front porch and there are the 3 boxes, waiting there...

I have had fedex do the same thing like your situation ST|FFY. I have also had them deliver the package to the wrong house and even though my address is clearly marked on the box. I had to call fedex and they sent the driver back out to retrieve my package back from the people that had signed for it. I was not to happy.

I used Fedex when I ordered all of my stuff. In three giant boxes. I wasn't home the first time they tried so they came back the next day, nothing was left unless I signed for it.

I live in an apartment, so they leave it at the office, or if it's closed, they take it and i just pick it up at the facility.

I am going to be ordering my system from newegg tonight. I do the shipping calculator and it only comes to liek $20 to ship all these parts, is this correct?

???? How would any of us know? Add it to your cart and see what the total is.

And everything I've ordered from newegg or anywhere else has been left outside. Including a Lian Li case, 19" CRT, & Klipsch speakers.

The only way to know for sure about shipping rates and procedures is to get in touch with the shipper (NewEgg) and the carrier (FedX). They both have very good websites and contact info galore.....

....not really a G[H] topic, so.....
