I wasn't sure if this is the right forum or not, hope so...

I just want to warn anyone who's planning on ordering from newegg or who ordered from them recently that they are having some issues with their warehouse (at least one of them, I'm not sure how many they have). I called today since I put my order in on Friday afternoon (EST, not PST) and I'm still stuck at Step 2 of 5... The guy told me they had some conveyor belt in the warehouse break and they are days behind and haven't even packed orders placed SEVERAL (his word, not mine) days before mine.

I normally love newegg, successfully ordered lots from there and I know lots of people who have also. I'm a little disappointed that they haven't posted anything about this on their webpage anywhere and are still letting people order when they know they're days and days behind on orders.

So, just fair warning to anyone who's planning or who has already ordered from newegg. I definitely won't buy anything from there for another month or so at least... and you can bet I'll be calling customer service beforehand to check and see if they have anymore warehouse problems at the time.

It's such a shame because I like them a lot and I know I'm by far not the only one who likes to use newegg.

As soon as they get it packed, they'll overnight it. That's what they did for me. I got an email saying I would get a free gift, but I don't see it.
 
man that is no reason not to buy from newegg, sure, they just screwed up a bit but it doesnt mean that they are damned from this day on....no one is perfect and if they are, they arent telling u the whole story
 
Did anyone notice that the option for same day shipping (if ordered before 12pm) wasn't there? I ordered some new headphones yesterday at 11am and wanted them to ship it the same day, but I couldn;t find anywhere to check to make it happen. I just checked my order, though, and it says its on step 4, packed and sealed and ready to go. Damn, its shipping from NJ :( . But the cool thing is the last time I had an order shipped from NJ, it came as fast as it did from so cal.
 
hey, every company will have occasional screw ups and problems. this is a broken conveyor belt or whatever. all it means is that your package will come a little late. most places don't even deliver as fast as them so I can forgive them for messing up every once in a while.
 
problems happen, this is not a companies fault.

newegg is letting people know about the problem (as embarassing as it is) and is trying to make good on it...what else can you ask for?

Yeah, like I said, I'll still order from them in the future. I'm just going to be more careful with them from now on. They did tell me about it, but I had to take the initiative and call them instead of just sitting around twiddling my thumbs. So, I wanted to post a message for anyone else who might be in my situation right now who didn't know what was going on.

Also, I wanted to build this weekend, and now it looks like that's not going to be possible. I figured that 5 1/2 business days would have been enough so I didn't choose any of the special shipping options, just got the standard Fedex Saver Shipping that I'm sure most of us get. If I had known that it wouldn't be shipped until Wed. or later (I still have no idea when it's actually going to be packed since the guy told me that they were still packing orders from days before mine), maybe I'd have purchased the special 2-day or next day air... I really don't know because I didn't know about the problem until 4 1/2 days (2 1/2 business days) after I actually made my order. I'm going to call them tomorrow and bump up the shipping if they can get it packed and shipped by Thursday morning - I'm not sure if they can guarantee me something like that, but I'm going to ask.

I was in the same boat as you, waiting for my NV Silencer 5. It was stuck at stage 2 for what seemed like forever and then tonight jumped to 4 then shipped! But they don't say anything about overnight! :( I guess I should have called them and complained! ;) YAY for NewEgg.

yeah, they are really behind on my order

ordered Mondary or Tuesday early morning and my stuff has STILL not shipped as of tonight and I even did 2 day shipping so I could get my new work computer together before the weekend. I received my LCD, case, HD, vid card. But still don't have the other components. Kinda annoying that that stuff ships, I get it, play with it, and the rest still hasn't shipped 3 days later :rolleyes:

it makes me think twice about ordering again. But I probably will. First time I have had a problem with newegg, but it seems the shipping is just getting slower and slower these days.
just annoying, but still <3 for NewEgg

Not suprising since NewEgg is the shit!

Low prices are nice, but NewEgg's cutomer service is top notch. I am a 100% customer.
 
I ordered an Antec case from Newegg about a year or so ago...


Showed up really quick, but the bezel was broken when it arrived. I wrote an email to the 'egg and within 48 hours I had a new bezel and didn't have to RMA the whole case or anything, no charge.

Can't beat it. Anyways, thought I'd mention that, just so everyone knows why that banner link stays up there. :D
 
NewEgg can raise their prices 10%, come by my house, smash my kneecaps with a lead pipe, and take a shit on my hood as they leave. I will STILL be their everloving loyal bitch.

No one ever called me smart (they did once but they mistook me for another person), but the best damn online retailer ever is still the best.

Yea I wondered why my proc was going slow through steps 2-5. It came a day early though when it did ship and OC's great :D
 
I absolutly love NEWEGG. I dont even considering buying any hardware from anywhere else. The only other site I have bought computer junk from is Danger Den, well frozencpu as well. I am currently waiting my new raptor 74 gig drive right now. Placed the order on lunch yesterday, it shipped last night and will be here on monday, and I only paid 1.99 for shipping.

Newegg, will you marry me?????????????

I don't know about the taking a shit on my hood part. Last time I seen that done, the yellow paint on the car turned gray where the turd was touching it. BTW, the turd sat on the car overnight if you wanted to know approx how long it takes for a turd to turn yellow paint gray.
 
Unfortunately, I left some bird shit on my car for too long and I know exactly what you are talking about. The paint is all eaten awya in spots. Fucking birds... I did not, however, know that human shit has the same affect. Maybe if they just sign their name in my hood with smeared feces? :cool:
 
I've been ordering my parts from practically every vendor on the internet, and so far it's been an OK experience. I'm probably going to get my HD and processor from them soon though. Hope it's back up.

Mod Edit - Question asked, vendor replied (thanks, NewEgg...:cool: ), and this thread is now wandering off topic and headed down the "turd colored" path. I think we'll call this one closed.....:D
