Newegg has some 280x

Went ahead and bought it, because, well im great about wasting money. But it is a highly rated card and it was actually in stock so why not right?
 
Yep. Price increase, and no free shipping. Plus the coupon codes no longer seem to work for Battlefield editions. Nice.
 
It's not but six bucks, but man......I'm tempted to jump. One only knows if prices will continue to rise.

I sure as hell hope that coupon code works, it prevented me from getting the 5% mobile purchase discount from them. Adding the code to an increased price product only to have it not work will piss me off even more than the price increase.

It shows paid for in my order history so hopefully i wont have to contact Newegg and Asus once i receive the card.
 
well, newegg better be prepared to give me 5% off my purchase if that BF4 code does not work :)

Just shot them an email. I bet they say I'm SOL. I'll probably cancel my order if true. That price is too close to the 770x with three games Nvidia bundle.

Also saw the normal sapphire ($320 though) and the toxic. God damn it, I really want to buy some right now and after the mining craze use them to game, but I can't afford em :(
 
How is crossfire nowadays with the R9 series? I'm thinking of selling my otherwise great 760's for two 280X's for mining, but I'm worried about gaming performance as well.

I don't run xfire but I do know they have worked hard on recent driver releases to reduce the microstutter problems. Xfire has come a long way in terms of performance and stability.
 
Just got in contact with Newegg......Apparently the free BF4 coupons have run out. I might cancel the order.
 
The 280x Toxic was in stock for about a minute and I snagged two up and applied the 5% coupon code which I think bugged out because it gave me the full $50 instead of the correct $36. No complaints here! Going to use them for my actual gaming rig and not bitcoin mining. :D

You're lucky, I could never find a pair in stock. I made the mistake of trusting gigabyte, only to be burned. Now the 280x leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

I should of just waited the additional month and got ref 290s. I thought the 280x would be spot on since it's a re-release... Ugh

I've been hunting down a pair of 280x's for about a week now (after hearing non-reference 290s won't be available until January) and it's been next to impossible. I saw I got an email with the 5% coupon and for the hell of it I checked Newegg for some 280x's and they were all out. Was about to go to bed when all the sudden I got a notification email from Newegg for the Toxic editions that I set earlier in the week. Added 2 of them, checked out in about a minute, and saw they were all gone right when I finished. :eek:

Was surprised I was fast enough to buy them AND able to apply the 5% coupon (that glitched and gave me $50 instead of $36). I guess you can say I was lucky. ;)

Until the bitcoining craze settles, it's going to be pretty difficult to buy AMD cards since most of them go out of stock minutes after they are available. Maybe I'll be able to resell my 280x's in a month at no loss and pick up some non-reference 290s.
 
I placed an order for the Gigabyte WF3 version x2 but decided against it and canceled right after I found out they are voltage locked.

I know pickings are slim but does anyone know exactly which models are NOT voltage locked? I had my eye on the HIS and Sapphire Toxic models, but I want to be sure before I put down a huge chunk of change right before X-Mas.
 
I just picked up a Gigabyte WF3 and two Powercolors. They're going in and out of stock. Just keep refreshing

WOW! That's incredible, Newegg is robbing people blind with that ASUS card, retail price on release was $309.00 now it's at $359.00 making it $10 more expensive than the out of stock Matrix version, ridiculous. :mad:
