holy crap. what the hell are they thinking? that price is ridiculous
 
100 or so more and you can have a 5970.

There is absolutely no rational, legit reason to buy one of these for gaming at this point.

I agree, the price would need to be around $440 for it to represent good value, performance wise.
You would be bonkers to buy one at that price.
 
There is very limited stock so the prices make sense. You would be surprised but people over at the CUDA forums are clamouring for GTX 295's because they are excellent compute cards in terms of bang for the buck. I could see them putting up $500+ especially if it's on the company's dollar.
 
$530 for a recertified card that competes with a card slightly below its price point and doesn't offer all of the latest features like its competitor does... Yeah, I think I'll pass.

true, if you pay over 300 for a gtx 295, do yourself a favor and get a hd 5870, and dont have to rely on the dual gpu card and can overclock further and less heat and way less power. not to mention more future proof.
 
It will only be worth the price when they put it in a GTX395 box and relabel the card.
