Blah blah, only 256mg, I know.
This will do just nicely for my 720P gaming HTPC.

For gaming? Depends on your monitor's resolution. The problem with only 256MB of RAM is, as your resolution goes up, the card runs out of memory space. So if you only want to play games at 1024x768 or 1280x1024 this card would be great.Hey how good is this card on a scale of 1 - 10 I know noob questions but nvidia confuses the fuck out of me with their cards and from reading the boards the 8800 is a good card this ones just light on ram right?
Would like to use this for gaming
The biggest bottleneck on the card is the memory speed, 1400MHz (according to clubit's spec page) vs 1800MHz on 512MB cards. Faster memory 256MB 8800GT cards keep up with 512MB models below 1920x1200 resolution. http://en.expreview.com/2007/11/29/reviewgalaxy-geforce-8800gt-256mb/?page=4Hey how good is this card on a scale of 1 - 10 I know noob questions but nvidia confuses the fuck out of me with their cards and from reading the boards the 8800 is a good card this ones just light on ram right?

Also good for Folding, since 256 MB buffer is all you need for most CUDA-based programs. That, plus 2 GBs of memory, cheap mATX board and a Q6600, would mean a LOT of PPD for cheap.
