Hey guys,

I am a newbie around here but hope to become good friends .This is my current build right now and I am looking to upgrade it.

BUILD:

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Memory: Patriot Gamer 2 Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Sandisk Extreme 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card
Case: NZXT Phantom 410 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 1000W 80+ Silver Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

What would you guys recommend? Reason I am upgrading is because I am going to be getting a new better monitor set up and I know it will tax my baby so I wanted to upgrade it a bit. I am lookin to crossfire another 7970 and OCing my machine.

I got a substantial bonus from work recently so budget is flexible. Right now I am using a Dell U2913WM 29" 1440p 60hz (OCed to 80~) and a 24" 1080p 5 ms LG. I will most probably be upgrading to add 3 x 24" and/or a 27" Korean IPS or some sort of mixture of these.

Any help is appreciated :D

If all you're doing is increasing pixels, the only thing you need to upgrade on your machine is your videocard. Your CPU is fine and will be even better once overclocked.

If you're going to run multiple monitors, you should plan for one 7970 (or better videocard, like R9 290[X] if your budget allows) per monitor for ideal gameplay. Really though, upgrade your monitors first, then videocard second. Depending on the games you play and what settings you desire, your single 7970 may be better than what you're expecting. Besides, the displays should be first priority anyway, kinda like upgrading your speakers before you upgrade what drives them.

To be honest though, your Dell U2913WM makes it kinda weird to add extra monitors to unless you replace it completely since it's so vertically short.

I will be having 2 desks. One standing and one sitting. I was hoping to put my dell and a 24" on my standing and my sitting is flexible. I was kinda hoping to try out eyefinity so I was interested in 3x 24" set up.

Swap that Seagate out for an HGST or WD.

SLI/CF is generally a waste.

Oh, and rumor has it that new Nvidia cards (20nm Maxwell Refresh) come out starting next month. But who knows if those rumors are true.
