I read topics about people suggesting to others to set their pc2 6400 memory to a 1:1 ratio, so I thought I would do the same for my new comp, but I can't seem to find where you set this ratio at. I looked for it in the bios but had no luck :(.

MOBO: DS3 F7

Can anyone enlighten me!

Enter the BIOS, hit Control + F1, go to the M.I.B Tweaker this brings up the hidden controls.

If the DS3 is like my DQ6 and I belieive it is, you will find 2:1 as the lowest memory divider. Its really 1:1, the only reason I can think of they would label it that way is, as the board only supports DDR2 which runs at 2x the FSB its trying to say that at a 400MHz FSB for example the memory will be running at 800MHz so 2 to 1.

So its just a matter of sematics/labeling 2:1 on a DS3 is a 1 to 1 memory divider.

As mentioned above you will have to hit Ctrl F1 at the main bios screen to enable the advanced memory and some other hidden settings.

Gigabyte calls the ratios by the final ddr2 (effective) rate. Which I think is more clear.

ex1: 400FSB with 2:1 ratio = ddr2 800
ex2: 266FSB with 3:1 ratio = ddr2 800

other motherboard makers call it by the actual ram speed before the effective "ddr" rate

ex1: 400FSB with 1:1 ratio = 400Mhz ram but b/c ddr (=dual data rate x2) = ddr2 800
ex2: 266FSB with 3:2 ratio = 400Mhz ram x ddr = ddr2 800

Thanks for the info guys. I was kind of confused because the lowest was 2, so I thought maybe this isn't the right function in the bios.
