It's time for another build and I wanted to get some second opinions or suggestions on hardware for my new build. I'm venturing into water-cooling more for a project than performance, but I would like this build to last me a good two years. So on to the questions!
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming, web browsing, photoshop, some 3D rendering/editing, and I would like to try folding.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Around $2800-$3000, doesn't have to include shipping, this also does not include the water-cooling parts I will be buying.
3) Where do you live?
Chicago
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
This is a brand new build so I'm not recycling any parts, so I need a case, RAM, CPU, Motherboard, GPU's (I want to SLI), SSD to boot my OS on, 1 TB+ Hard drive(s), power supply.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
None.
6) Will you be overclocking?
Yes, I plan to get as high overclocks as I can while staying stable and not damaging anything. Hopefully water-cooling should help.
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
I currently use a 50in Pioneer elite plasma that I use, but I am most likely going to get a new 47in Samsung LED LCD tv to use.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
As soon as now, or within two weeks.
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc.
I want RAID, SLI support, USB 3.0, SATA 6Gb/s, relatively friendly overclocking capabilities, built in audio, I would like bluetooth but that's just more for fun.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
No, but I plan on buying Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
This is the basic build I have set out right now on newegg, but I'm certainly open to changes and suggestions.
