It's like you lost nearly two and a half drives there..which, at about $150 a drive, is like $375 w/ of hardware......x2 cause you have two of the exact same setup? That's almost a $1000 of drives you overshot according to http://www.ntfs.com/ntfs_vs_fat.htm
This isn't all bad news. Don't unix/linux file systems offer more space? you could create your unimatrices in those OSes, formatted as such, and then get drivers for your machines....samba style or whatever's out now. With hte drivers, you'd still be able to access all the storage space...I'm really just hypothesizing here.
