New Site - Please Critique

Well, I'm not sure the world needs yet another gaming/hardware review website, but putting that aside, do you want comments on the design or the content?

For the design, honestly, it looks just like any of the thousands of sites made with today's popular CMSs. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it does have a familiar look and feel that people are used to. It's functional and clean, but isn't going to be wowing anyone with its design.

I can't say much regarding content as this is a new site after all. If indeed the goal is "to provide the best compilation of new hardware and software information, reviews, benchmarks, and discussions", then, so far, you have captured the correct writing style (short, concise and links to more detailed info).
 
So, is this all done via a Joomla template and you just punch in the text?

If so, the design breaks badly for me and really messes up with accessibility.

I am running 1440x900. In IE6, I have accessibility set to ignore font sizes specified on pages. It seems your template has set sizes for text boxes, but since I am ignoring your font sizes, it can't display all the text in the boxes. Newsflash is underneath the logo with the main menu to the right of the Newsflash. It's a total mess.

In FF3, if I adjust the font size just right, it seems to display like I think you intended. But then, the text is too small for me to even read.
 
Also the forum needs some work, I personally dont dig the colors but the logo in top left corner should def wear a white background.

Is that a default Joomla template? You can find a LOT of free templates available. Also, you will find that some modules and such can really make a huge impact. Also, you can change the layout of that template, and add/remove some items. It looks like it's just the default with your stuff on it without being modified in any way.

Brutal? Yea, but you asked! :) I'm working on a Joomla site myself, that's why I said that stuff. There is SO much available for Joomla. I've just begun to scratch the surface myself, but there is a lot to make it look like anything, and offer a lot of features.
