New Sandy Bridge Build

I am currently looking to move from my core 2 quad (9300) to a new sandy bridge build.

I have come up with some parts that I think would be a good fit to this build if anyone has some thoughts on this. I will use it for general computing, gaming, photoshop, design, cad etc.
From my current pc I will be bringing the dvd/rw, ssd, hdd, gtx460

These are the parts I have come up with to get:
MSI P67A-GD65
Intel Core i5 2500K
G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 CL8-8-8-24 1.5V
Corsair TX750 V2 750W
NZXT H2 ATX Mid Tower Steel Case (Looking for a very quiet non flashy case, i like the hotswap capibility along with the usb 3.0 support)

Then before bf3 I would likely get a larger 5400rpm hdd for storage, another set of that ram and another gtx 460 to sli.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That RAM won't work with that MSI mobo. You need to get this RAM:
$82 - 2 x G.Skill Ripjaw Series F3-10666CL9S-4GBRL 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM

I'd spend the extra $11 for slightly higher quality, slightly more power, and modular cables:
$136 - XFX Black Edition P1-750B-CAG9 750W Modular PSU

Why will it not work? I thought that mobo can support until ddr3 1600.

Because that's not actually the case. It's been found that current MSI P67 mobos have issues with DDR3 1600 RAM.

Besides, even if the issue is fixed, still no reason whatsoever to get DDR3 1600 RAM since you won't notice an iota of real world difference between 1333 and 1600. In addition, the SB CPUs do not rely on the RAM at all for overclocking. So no matter what, still would not be a good buy.

Thanks. I didnt even notice that the ram wouldnt work as I was originally looking at the asus mobo, and would have ordered it without knowing. The modular powersupply though would be ncie aswell for the cable management so I will look into that aswell.

To be fair, it might just be G.Skill memory modules that MSI doesn't like for some reason. Here's the forum thread on G.Skill's forums.

But to be safe (and to save some money) get DDR3 1333 MHz CL9 modules.

Yah, after reading that it is probably best to go with the CL9. Likely the "G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1333 CL9-9-9-24". If I wont notice the performance it is no big deal, and it brings in the total a little bit lower aswell.
Out of curiousity though, any other 750w power supply options in that price range and is still quiet as that model is no longer available at the retailer I am going to purchase from.
They do have the "Seasonic M12D 850W" for $119 which seems like a good price as I have heard good things about seasonic.

Seasonic makes PSUs not only under its own brand, but also manufactures PSUs for other companies such as Antec, Corsair and XFX. (The Corsair TX750 v2 on your original list is Seasonic-based.) That $119 price that you found is a good price for a good-quality 850W PSU even if it is of a slightly older design.

gotcha. I suppose it did come out in 2008. Oddly enough when I add that to my cart it also gives me a discount on that case which was at random. I did find the xfx black 750 in canada though at another retailer, but going with the 850w is probably a safe idea for about the same price.

Alright, so my final build would end up being
Seasonic M12D 850W EPS12V 20/24PIN ATX Modular Power Supply $120
NZXT H2 ATX Mid Tower Steel Case Black $95
G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL 8GB 2X4GB $88
MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) P67 ATX LGA1155 $177
Intel Core i5 2500K $210
Comes out to about $700cdn

I can't speak to the quality of that case. It looks like a decent one, but my case knowledge is still being developed. The rest of the build looks good to me though.

Yes, I am kind of going out on a limb with that case as my prior builds have used antec. I currently use an antec ninehundred v1 and have really come to dislike it. So I was looking for something with a hotswap option, fan control and very quiet without all the flashy lights and such. I read up on this one reading all the reviews and it sounds like a decent offering to meet those demands also with usb 3.0 which i was looking for.

Thanks for the help though guys, I ordered it so hopefully I can build it by the weekend.
