Hi guys,
I just got my new PC running, here's the info:
Antec P180 Case
Antec TruePowerII 550 W PSU
Asus A8N-SLI Premium
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
2 GB Corsair DDR 400 Mem
Maxtor DIamondmax 300 GB HD
BFG Geforce 7800 GTX OC (Stock OC)
Sound Blaster AUdigy 2 ZS
Cooling:
the case has 4 120MM fans, one in the front sucking in, one in the lower chamber for the PSU, one in the top blowing out by the CPU, and one in the back, blowing out right by the CPU.
I have an XP-90 heatsink with a silentcat (or something like that) fan on it.
I also bought one of those 2 dollar card cooler slot things from newegg.
System is running stable when its idle, left it on for 24 hours, CPU and MB temps are around 32-34 C. Not sure what the GPU is when its idle, but here's my problem.
I can play BF2 (settings maxxed out of course) for about 20 minutes, then it locks up, and I have to restart. When I reboot, the GPU is around 51 C (120 something F).
I thought this case had superior cooling??!? Im not OCing anything and its already locking up. Spent over 2 grand to NOT have this happen.
Someone help me. Is there a VGA card cooler I should get that will solve this problem?
Note: I took out the little side VGA vent thing that came with this case, it had a 80MM fan slot that blew air directly onto the card, but I took it out for better case airflow.
WHat do you think?
