Hi all,
I was wondering if either of these PSUs would be
powerful enough to power my rig. The link for the power supply is
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703018

My rig is a htpc that is also used for a cheap gaming machine the specs are:
Intel e2180 @ 2.0 ghz might overclock to 2.8 though if possible
2 gig crucial ballistix tracers @ 800
160 gb maxtor hd
50 gb samsung hd
Evga Geforce 9600 gt @ Stock
Lite-on dvd burner
2 case fans and a cpu fan.

I don't have a big budget for a power supply so I'm hoping to find a decent PSU
for about $50 shipped. I don't need anything too powerful since I won't be upgrading
anytime soon. Thanks for all suggestions provided.

I concur with leSLIe: The Corsair 400CX is a far better choice for the money than either of those PSUs. While the PC P&C would probably be enough for that setup, it's a poor choice for the money considering that the Corsair 400CX is only $5 more, offers 3A more on the +12V rail which gives you a bit more headroom for upgrades as well as gets you closer to the optimal noise, longevity and temperature range for a PSU.

The Raidmax is probably a low quality Topower built PSU. So the Corsair 400CX is still of far better quality than the Raidmax.

Thanks for the info, I think I will go with the corsair instead of those other 2.
Thanks again.
