new prices for INTEL CPUs?

Does anybody knows when the new prices for INTEL CPUs are coming?
 
He probably means the quad-cores (Q9450/Q9550), which haven't happened yet, and no one knows when they are. We hear second week in August, but nothing has been made official.
 
No i have to build cheap PC for a friend , and his wife is looking over his spending with really bad eye... So i have to cut the cost to minimum...
 
Yeah well as everyone has said, there were prices cuts for Intel CPUs a few days ago. The E7200 hasn't changed much in price but the E8400 did drop $15. The Q6600 was already being sold for less than $200 before the price cuts. The next round of price cuts are sometime in August for the Q9550 (Dropping to $316). The Q9450 is being phased at that time too. However one could get in on this good deal on the Q9450 right now:

was going to get that but tax added another $25. I hate living in California.

I feel your pain, man (Lives in SoCal)

But at least it's still cheaper than buying from Newegg which charges $330 for the same CPU plus tax. So you're still saving ~$60 buying from Microcenter rather than Newegg.
 
If you're aiming to keep costs at a minimum, then just get a cheap dual core. Sure most of us prefer quads, but if given the budget constraints a dual core won't *kill* performance. Just reduce longevity..possibly.

As for living in California (or as least Southern California) at least we get everything really fast. =P Overnight shipping on pretty much everything (even ZZF on occasion).
