As of now, I am running the above with a powersupply that was pulled from an emachine and has a maximum output as 288watt.

First of the, the powersupply only has 20 pins, whereas the motherboard has 24pins. Oddly enough, the powersupply does work and so does my system. In fact, I was able to play need for speed prostreet with pretty much maximum graphics.

I did order a Thermaltake 430 watt powersupply, but I'm getting a feeling that I should cancel the order. I mean, this low watt powersupply is doing the job, so would I actually benefit from any increase in maximum wattage?

the 430 watt thermaltake has a shit +12v rail and blatantly wont do 430 watts lol... take a look at the 400w silverstone strider they gave a silver award on here for.. for 50 bux with strong +12v rails its a bargain and really will push the watts.

Yes, definitely cancel that order right away. The only good Thermaltake power supplies are part of their Toughpower line and some Purepower models (forget which models). Anyway, I would not recommend running your rig for much longer on that 288W PSU. It may be fine for now but in the long run, that PSU will die.

I recommend getting this PSU instead. Has 34A on the +12V rail which is plenty of power for your rig:
Antec Earthwatts EA500 500W PSU - $55

well the thing is I got the thermaltake for 21 bucks shipped (I had a $25 gift certificate for Dell). And the coupon won't be reusable. But thanks for allowing me to regret my order lol.
