It's been a tradition of mine to build a new system whenever a new OS rolls out. So, with the news that Windows 8 is likely debuting in October, that's likely when I'll get rid of my current setup for a new one.

I'm simply interested in knowing if there's anything particularly interesting that might be coming in that timeframe. Unfortunately, it looks like Haswell isn't shipping until 2013...but what about things like graphics cards?
 
The only thing really 'interesting' I would expect by that time would be possibly the AMD 7990. There are not any expected CPU or GPU releases before then that are better and above and beyond what is already out there. SSD prices are also falling pretty fast so by the time Windows 8 comes out, prices may be even lower than now.
 
The only thing I would really be watching out for is RAM pricing: it's been going ever so slightly over the past several months. So definitely make sure to grab a 8GB RAM set for under $50 before it goes over $50.
