New PC advice - mid range.

Hey there, sadly my good old GTX260 passed away today, I was using it with E8400 so it's good time to upgrade whole PC I guess.

My budget isn't too impressive so I chose some parts from mid-range:
Gigabyte HD 7870 OC 2GB,
Core i5 2500k (with BOX cooling, can't really afford better fan atm)
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz CL9.0 2x4GB,
ASRock P67 PRO3,
XFX Core 550W 80+ SLI

I can't really tell you how much do they cost in universal currency like euro (I live in Poland), but my question is:

Would you swap anything in similiar price range for any other part?

This is supposed to be pure gaming PC.

Also, I think that 550W is enough to OC Core i5 + HD7870, am I right?

I would suggest a Z77 based motherboard for native USB 3.0.

550w psu is enough if it's a good psu. that one should work fine for that setup.

DDR3 1600 is useless. Even if it was only $5 more than DDR3 1333, I wouldn't buy it for an Intel i5 system. Sandy bridge & Ivy bridge won't make use of it.

If you can wait another month, nVidia should be releasing their mid-range GTX 660Ti, which may drive down prices on the 7870 video cards.
 
Thanks for your answers then, I guess I'll choose slightly cheaper RAM and MOBO and get myself GTX670 instead of 7870 :)

660Ti looks really good but I play in full HD and some of the FPS differences may be noticeable, especially in the future releases.
 
I would definitely go with a Z77 mobo without a doubt since they won't have the quirkiness of the P67 motherboards. Probably take a look at the MSI Z77A-G43.

As for your plans on overclocking, the stock HSF will be a pain for that usage. Can you afford the Coolermaster Hyper 212+?

GPU wise, what's the max resolution of your monitor?

Yes a solid 550W PSU like the one you chose will be enough for a Core i5 + GTX 670 or HD 7870.
