Thanks in advance,

P.S. This will be my first build.

Lol JamesL - good lag you got there

As for the comp, I built mine for 350ish, specs are in my sig. It took awhile since some of it were rebate deals (free after rebate =P) but yea... if you dont need it asap, just wait for random deals to pop around.

Now this is what I got, changed some things

Drop the AGP video card, that mobo only supports PCI-E video cards. In fact most mobos only support PCI-E video cards these days. I recommend getting this significantly faster video card:
PALiT NE/9600T+0152 GeForce 9600GT 512MB PCI-E Video Card - $150

Drop the case and PSU combo. The PSU that comes with that case is pretty crappy. In fact most case and PSU combos are pretty crappy with the exception being Antec and a few Coolermaster combos. I recommend getting this PSU/Case combo instead:
Antec NSK6580 ATX Case with Antec Earthwatts 430W PSU - $93

Drop the Asus 690G mobo and go with this mobo instead:
Biostar TA770 A2+ AMD 770 Motherboard - $80

Drop the Ballistix RAM. It's overpriced and you really won't notice the lower latency outside of synthetic benchmarks. I recommend getting this RAM instead:
G.SKILL F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ 2 x 1GB DDR2 800 RAM - $35

Drop the AMD BE CPU. It does not come with a HSF and your limited buget doesn't really allow for one. So I recommend getting the non-Black Edition of that CPU since it does come with a HSF yet costs only $5 more:
AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+ CPU - $100

The Ram that u linked it says valid untill 4/3... that means tomorrow it wont be the same price, anyway

This system allows you with $150 left. You could use this to get a motherboard w/ more features, bigger hard drive, cpu heatsink, or move up to 8800gt. That being said, this computer is plenty powerful to play all current games very well, especially with an overclock.

bleh, sorry bout that triple post earlier.. was gettin some lag.
I built mines a couple months ago for only $650
Being... I paid 125 for my 3850 -
I paid $150 for my case/psu
bought my cpu $150 used -

Ok.. now,
You can get the same case/psu I got for 97+sh
For the price I paid for my 3850, you can get a 9600gt... which quite a bit better.
You could get a ip35-e, e2xxx, and a refurb(like-new) zalman cooler for a total of $180, and run it overclocked at 3.0
I even saw a e8400 on craigslist the other day selling for $160.

The Velocity Micro case is made by Lian Li, and is very high quality. The PSU so far for me has been extremely quiet and stable.
Refurbdoc on ebay has been selling refurb zalman coolers all year long, and you would never know it was a refurbished product.
Brand spanking new, sealed with the zalman sticker, and accessories factory-sealed inside the plastic bag.. perfect-condition.

The 9600GT has a higher clock, shader, memory, speed, based on the G92 GPU meaning it's more energy efficient and performs on par with the G80 GPU. In addition, the extra VRAM will help at higher resolutions.

Ok lets start over. Please answer the following questions so that we can help you better:
- What are you planning to do with this PC?
- If gaming, what size monitor do you have?
- Will you be overclocking?
- What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Lots of SATA ports?

-no
-i dont know i never built before

Ok then, the AMD build you had before my post about the 9600GT is a better choice since it had a better video card, PSU, hard drive, RAM, and DVD burner. The Intel build you posted does have a better CPU and will be a overclocking beast BUT it has a crappy PSU, motherboard, video card and too expensive RAM.

Since you're not overclocking, I recommend going with your AMD build with the 8800GTS 320MB/9600GT 512MB video card.

lets try this You want a budget gaming build under 650. and you dont OC

if you want u can drop the MoBo to somthing else and save 20 bucks.
the phenom antec 900 combo deal actualy changed this build mid stream.

you could always go for a cheaper case and swap out the amd mobo for a intel and grab a q6600 intel quad if u save enough on the case.

Unlike the builds you and hstuehmeyer2000 posted, the build list above actually has a good quality PSU. If you need a little GPU power, you can upgrade to the 8800GT for only $30 more:
XFX PVT88PYSF4 GeForce 8800GT 512MB PCI-E Video Card - $170

And don't factor in the rebate until you actually have the rebate check in hand. Rebates can be lost, rejected or outright ignored. Not a sure discount.

I would go with Danny Bui's suggestion. A high quality PSU is very important and should be overlooked. And ya go for the 8800gt, it was last you a good while.

seventeam doesn't make a decent psu?

Well they do make decent PSUs, when they're properly rated. However I'm judging that Coolermaster Extreme Power on what it is rated at, 500W. That Coolermaster Extreme Power is not a good quality 500W PSU but it's a decent 400W (or 450W) Seventteam PSU. Dunno about you but when I buy a PSU I expect to be able to use every wattage that it's rated at.

Hence why I said your build list didn't have a good quality PSU. It's rated far higher than it should be.

My suggestion is this:rolleyes::

Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129024
Mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128078
CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115052

HDD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148262

Total = $606.12, thats including shipping to atleast Oklahoma(where i am at).
also on the case there is a $30 MIR and a $10 MIR so should put it right about $560.

However, for the case it really should be to your choice cus you are the one that has to pay for it, but the power supply should be something that is of good quality such as the one include with this case, or some of the ones the other guys on here have suggested.

This is my suggestion on what to get, I tried to go best bang for buck from one place. What I would suggest is look around at various places both locally and online for different sales and rebates, especially with :DMemorial Day:D coming up. Best of luck and keep us informed.:D
