There's a new nVidia GPU core out v1.13

From the Folding Forums about the new core..................
One of the criteria for identifying when a WU is producing incorrect results was relaxed.
This release also includes a modification that should fix a subset of EUEs that were occuring after the WU had completed the simulation.
Finally more diagnostics were included to help us isolate EUEs, and optimizations that Scott provided earlier this month are included in this release.

Reported 6-11% increase in PpD from it.

Core 11 v1.13 was replaced w/ v1.15 earlier today.
The new version fixes the problem w/ the 'INTERRUPTED' signal being sent instead of the 'UNSTABLE_MACHINE' signal, if there is a problem w/ the simulation.
A similar fix was included in a new ATI Core_11 that was also released earlier today.

Sweet deal if the performance increase is there.....6-11% is another 3-500 PPD per card for me

 
Yes, that's correct about the PPD increase. I gained about 300-400 ppd on a 9800GT at stock speed (I cannot use EVGA Precision with WHS).
 
Great news for the GPU client, now about the SMP client....

 
Nothing like a free ~300PPD for minimal effort. :D

But does it fix the EUE errors that result from the use of fast user switching on Win XP? I lose at least 4 WU a day while I'm at work because of that... :mad:

It was already on my mom's computer because I just upgraded it to folding status. I had to upgrade all the others. I still have 2 that I borged that need updating tomorrow. Just on the ones upgraded it netted me ~400 PPD.

I used the latest, which is 1.3 iirc as well. I will mess with it again as soon as I have some time myself (the WHS box is my lifeline between our network and the internet, acting as a firewall/router server with Endian Firewall in a VM).

 
After closing client, delete FAH core_11. Restart client and Stanford will load the 1.13 core. Good for + or - 400 Ppd.

 
I'll give this a try and see what happens. I don't mind a free bump :)

Edit: Holy crap batman. Went from 5250 to 5850!!!

Edit: Client just downloaded 1.15

 
I just reloaded on my borgs at my friend's house. There is a 1.15 core now!! Already! I don't know if it's going to make a difference or not, but check it out!!

Are we getting the 1.15 core because this v1.13 core is borked. I had a 8800GT give out a NANS detected on GPU error and it shut down the client. Anybody know what that is or how to avoid them?

 
If you don't delete the core, it won't update, that is how you avoid it. If you did, I would go ahead and get the latest one. I didn't have any problems on any of my computers.
 
Yeah, 1.15 is released to fix a issue with the "INTERRUPTED" message which stop the client.

 
Damn wish i would of seen this earlier yesterday so i could of switched my 4 cards over to the new core. oh well can fix it next weekend. when i get home.

Dayam...just switching from the 1.13 core to the 1.15 core, I went up another 500+ PPD...Add that to the previous jump of 2,000 PPD for the 1.13 core, and that is a pretty sweet spread amongst six cards...

I haven't noticed a significant PPD increase from v1.13 to 1.15. If there is a jump it's about 50PPD on an OC'd 8800GT at most, if even that much. YMMV.

 
Strange, I'm seeing 450-600 ppd increase depending on the card. 9800 GTX seems to have the biggest leap for me going from ~60xx to 66xx.

Did you update today only or yesterday and today? There were two new releases of the core. The big performance increase was with yesterday's v1.13 release. I'm not noticing anything substantial with today's v1.15 release vs 1.13. :confused:

Same PpD increase with this core vs v1.09
But if you updated your cores to v1.13, you need to do it again to 1.15

If your running any ATI cards, you can update your core as well to v1.17

I guess I should check this stuff more often. My clients were still running on 1.09, hope I'll get a little bump.

Hmm, downloaded it on my main rig (4870) before work and got nothing but a string of UNSTABLE_MACHINE failures. Dropped it back to stock speeds and got the same thing. Didn't have time to mess with it before I had to leave for work, so I'll check it out when I get home.

I guess the failure could be CPU based, but this machine will Prime for days with no errors.

So far, there are no perceptible changes to my single Ati client when I updated to v1.17 of the Ati core. I'm running a HD3850.

Downclocked my rig to 400x8 to reduce the clocks on the CPU and memory and I'm still having the UNSTABLE_MACHINE failures. Think I'm going to do a full uninstall and reinstall of the client and see if that fixes things.
 
I'm gonna need to downclock my 8800GTX. I've been getting more EUE's. I'm having to check my box via logmein.com while I am on the road. The EUE's seem to coincide with me logging in, but not always. I'll downclock a few clicks and see if that makes it more stable.

 
Is their any real need to upgrade the core? One of mine 8800Gs cards is running 1.09 and showing 5058 PPD. Any reason I should move to 1.15?
