New Nvidia drivers

The last three drivers will make Shadow of the Tomb Raider crash if using ray tracing on ultra. Nvidia have known about this for a while but no mention of when it will be fixed.
I agree, in the past I could update my drivers really without doing any research and wouldn't have any problems. Now, it seems like every driver update introduces some new problem.

Ok I thought the new driver was stable. Then came back to the PC and black screen - no wake up monitor. Had to hard reboot. Reinstalling older drivers. Only good thing is DLSS4 looked dope in COD BO6. So not sure if there are other ways to use the DLSS model. Plus VRR flickering is back.

Wow after reading the reddit again they even list a Black screen with 572.60 guess I'm holding off from buying a card this is a deal breaker. Even current Nvidia card users are having problems. Must be some bad code Manuel from Nvidia can't even fix.

Yes 3 botched drivers in a row reminds me of experiences with AMD. This is terrible.

Sorry to those suffering issues. 572.60 installed on my 3070 mobile working flawlessly though.

Have been running the 572.60 drivers with my 4090 without issues including Black Ops 6 with frame gen enabled for the heck of it. The only issue I had with the previous driver was on boot it would sometimes hang on a black screen, but that issue has gone away.

Does your PC wake up the monitor?

I played a long mission in Stalker and didn't have any issues, although I didn't have any issues with the previous set also. If not tried maybe a DDU might help, I did this when moving from the 555.36.

These driver updates seem to have a weird way of handling the game optimization stuff. It says these newer ones have profiles for MH Wilds, but I updated and the game doesn't even show up in the list. I feel like I had the same problem with Stalker 2 when that came out as well.

Updated to the latest drivers, still have the black screen issue. Only happens when waking the screen and only sometimes. RTX 4070 Super. Annoying to say the least.

Yeah, it sucks. My 7800x3d box has had no issues, but everything else has been ick.

It makes baby Jesus cry.....

I installed 572.60 yesterday, running an RTX 3090 and I'm poking around in Sonic Frontiers, which is not a demanding game, and it is now randomly black-screening during the game. Gonna roll this junk back. Ironic that they supposedly fixed black screen issues on the 50 series but introduced it to other cards.

OK, I tried re-installing the 572.60 drivers to see if they were the cause of my explorer.exe issues, and although I haven't had that occur again I've had two incidents where I was working at something on my desk and my monitor goes into sleep mode, and I can hear my fans ramp up to 100% and once my computer rebooted, and the other time my system recovered from an nvlddmkm error on wake. My system is usually rock solid stable, so these drivers are definitely half baked. Running a 4090 with Windows 10.

Yeah fans ramped up to 100 percent on my card and the monitor goes black. I'm not sure if these new drivers will prevent this.

I went back to pre-50 series drivers. Everything is fine again. Except the Monster Hunter Wilds benchmark crashing but I don't care about that. Uninstalled already.
These drivers are so bad not sure what it will take for nvidia to fix their crap.

Had a few weird things on a 5090 with latest drivers. HDR making the desktop random flash. Also give the monitor a yellow tint when returned to SDR. Occasional black screen crash. Lastly Varjo Aero not working at all.

Interesting, I'm on 11 and 0 issues with any of the games I'm currently playing.

I wonder, are those of you having issues all on 10 as well?
I am on Win 11 latest version. Issue with black screen happens when you return after a while so if you have a habit of shutting down PC it won’t matter. I never shut down my PC so when I return monitor doesn’t turn on. A few times the driver may reboot and it turns on with an error. For me this is unusable in current form and has been for past 3 releases.

Add to that VRR flicker on OLED is back - something that was fixed almost 6 months ago.

After a very very long time this is first time I am facing issues that made me never look back at AMD. So if this continues I don’t know what I will do as Nvidia is supposed to be the company that knows how to code drivers.

KickAssCop Have you bought before a Geforce at launch? When a new GPU or CPU generation is launched, I always read about various issues, for Intel and Nvidia too, but the difference is that they get things on track usually in three months or so at the latest without any significant hassle beyond that (compared to AMD). I think launch issues are nothing special, though aknowledging this don't make them any less irksome.

I always buy day one on launch. This is first time I haven’t managed to get a card already one month later. Probably because I am also not trying hard enough.

I'm going to move my usual in-office days around next week and go in on Monday so I can be home on Wednesday March 5 and Thursday March 6. March 5 is the 5070 launch and March 6 is the RX 9070XT and RX 9070 launch. Last time I bought an NV card was December 8, 2020 - RX 6900XT launch day. NV cards were dropping all over the place. I struck out on AMD.com trying to get a 6900XT, but landed a 3090 on BestBuy.com a little while later. I suspect NV likes to shit on AMD's parade. Also if the rumors that NV is engaging in "scarcity marketing" are true the arrival of competitive products may mark the end of their "scarcity marketing" campaign.

KickAssCop Ah, I was on mobile actually so I didn't notice you have a previous gen model. Nasty when you undergo issues on previous gens as well, but for those there are plenty of working drivers available, so not a big deal, just like you seem to be on one already. I tend to avoid updating drivers even on Geforce unless a new one offers something necessary for my usage.

I am more worried about next week tariffs causing another price hike. 5090 would be 3000 or above for every card. Not a pretty picture. Paying more than double for 30% more performance is a bit ridiculous. I paid 1600+tax and ship on day one for my current 4090.

That may also be it, I have a screensaver for when I walk away for a bit, usually put PC to sleep while gone and I haven't yet let then screen turn off since driver update. I'll give it a try in a few and report back.

I've had repeated issues with NV drivers and machines not waking up from sleep over the past couple of decades. It most often happens when I have a recently launched card, but I don't usually upgrade drivers all that often unless I have a recently launched card. Mostly just when I have an issue or get a game that's newer than the drivers I'm running. As a result I've gotten into an environmentally unfriendly habit of disabling automatic sleep mode. Turn off automatic sleep on a new rig, then never get around to turning it on.

So I'm back, and it works as it should. Changed settings to turn off monitor after 1 minute. Left for at least 20 minutes. came back and moved the mouse, and both monitors turned on after about 1 second of delay. But working as it should.

I'm stumped about what else could be the differentiating factor.

Could be the monitor. I've had different levels of success or not with monitor wakeup depending on the specific monitor. Currently with a 4090 and PG32UQX, I have zero issues. However, in the past with other configurations I've sometimes had problems where it didn't wake properly.

Also can be an issue if there's other hardware in the way, like a KVM. I have a cheap 2-port KVM at work and it actually always black screens on the monitor when I wake it up. The procedure I have to use is to press keys to wake up system, get black screen, switch inputs on the KVM and back, screen works fine. If I remove the KVM then everything is fine.

I've had monitor issues too, but basically all with gaming monitors. The Samsung Neo G7 43" 4k VA screen I had for about a week was the worst. Wouldn't wake up from sleep on DP, glitched constantly on HDMI, had a bunch of degenerate "smart" TV features that got in the way of being a monitor, brain-damaged HDR & wide gamut, etc. Returned that one, bought an LG OLED, decided I didn't like it all that well for work (text quality), and upgraded furniture to set up an L-shaped desk to just use the OLED for gaming. LG OLED is still a little glitchy sometimes, but my 60Hz IPS Dell office monitors in the work setup are flawless and do exactly what they're supposed to. The LG OLED does well when running a game, but it still does stupid shit. My #1 complaint with it is any time it turns on it displays this stupid LG animation before it shows any video output because yeah watching an LG Ultragear animation is so much better than seeing the "press F2 or Del to enter Setup" prompt.

I can't even find a 5080 Scalper prices are going down for them on eBay 699 cards listed as I type You have two types of scalpers Individuals and Corporate outlets the store fronts charge unreal prices like on Amazon. I just hope Nvidia is still producing cards not just saying hey here you go Gamerz Nexas review this for us. If there was a news outlet showing the factories producing cards that would be great but we get second hand news. That is one thing Video Cardz doesn't do is show us inside the GPU production process they get leaks from guys with Anime or Indy Car drivers avatars.

I just installed the Hotfix until something comes up again on the Nvidia App.

Apparently, I can buy a 5090 for a cool 4000$ today. 5080s I have had opportunities to buy at MSRP or near MSRP (like 200$ extra) but I passed on them all the time.

I haven't updated the drivers on my RTX 3070 in a few months so I told my two oldest kids to update the drivers on their 3060ti's as my guinea pigs to see if they have any issues before I take the leap.

Win 10 is dead. Nothing in my house but Win 11 and variations of Linux.

I have one box out of three running Nvidia without issues. My 7800x3d box works fine. The 9800x3d box had to be rolled back and the lappy is facing a clean install.

Well, I'm sorry to hear you are still dealing with issues. At this point the only differentiating factor that could be causing these black screen issues may be the monitors or perhaps the system RAM.

I do hope a driver fix does come out for those affected soon though.
