I cancelled my account today. When people stop tolerating this, they will listen.
I don't like to pay anyone my hard earned cash for mediocre anything.
I do multiple streams fairly often as my three year old watches his shows while I watch something a little more interesting only iPad. The moment this goes into effect for me I'll start looking into alternatives.
Netflix TOS said:Personal Computer Requirements and Device Limitations: To enjoy watching instantly via your personal computer, your equipment must satisfy certain system requirements. Start looking. It's in the TOS.
If all of your watching is within your household and you can only do one at a time, then it's because you're on too low of a plan.
Nobody, per the TOS, is allowed to share their netflix account to allow a family member, friend, etc... to watch Netflix from a different location.
well what if I need to watch netflix from a different location myself?
It seems perfectly logical that you cant share your 1 account with an 10 person family allowing everyone to stream at the same time from various locations lol...
Not interested in what's logical or fair, businesses don't operate on fairness and neither should consumers. They raised prices and reduced value. That is the fact. Every unreasonable customer should be pissed.
Lots of people in here that have no idea how the movie industry works. Netflix isn't raising prices because they hate having customers, they're raising prices because their costs went up when the movie studios realized streaming isn't going away. If you want to price of Netflix and other streaming services to go down, stop buying DVDs and going to the movies.
Lots of people don't care how the movie industry works. It's up to Netflix to provide value to their customers, whether that be done by negotiating better contracts, or leveraging with their current userbase. Losing customers isn't going to bring more money to the movie studios, I'm sure Netflix can convince them of that if they have good leadership.
Netflix is better off without customers like that. I am in sales myself and I'd happily lose a sale to get rid of a stupid arrogant customer.
You're in sales, but don't think a company should compete to gain customers? You don't think Netflix should try and improve their services and try to gain leverage against movie studios?
not at the cost of going bankrupt which is exactly what would happen if many of the people in this thread had their way.
Exactly why they should use their massive customer base to try and leverage concessions from the movie industry. The industry, HBO, Startz etc are the ones that need to change.

Netflix has much less power than you think. Yes, they have a larger customer base, but the content providers have other, much more profitable avenues of making money. They have the leverage, not Netflix. I doubt HBO or Starz hardly cares about the size of the customer base, they care about how much Netflix is going to pay them. Besides, with such a large market share of online streaming, that means the content providers should be able to squeeze more money out of Netflix, and they are.

In Tennessee, it's now illegal to share your Netflix account outside your home, so this change doesn't really hurt us in the state.
Wonder how this would apply if you had multiple homes in multiple states. IE: Vacation home.
