New MW2 Map pack..

I dont want to pay $15 for a map pack that is stupid. How do you pay for the map pack anyways? do you just DL it thru steam? I am getting ready to go right now im just waiting on the word if that first map pack is free or not, if so im going to buy the game right now and throw cod4 in the trash can, or use it as a coaster lol
 
I really enjoyed MW2 on PS3 and i am sure ill like it more on PC, people complain about every game to be honest so i'm just taking the mw2 hate with a grain of salt. Question about the servers tho that I dont understand.

Cod 4 had dedicated servers right? so is that why that game is still running strong on PC? if so I wonder what wiill happen with MW2 not having ded servers, will the game just die out this november when the new one comes out or will it still run strong like cod4 is?

I get confused about the servers lol, Id hate to run out today spend $60 on mw2 and only be able to play it until this november, that would reallly suck

i bought fo3 goty last week and havent opened it, im kinda debating taking it back or just buying MW2 today, I just hate having to pay for map packs when we got the ones on cod4 for free
 
im having a hard time trying to stomach the purchase lol, $60 for the game then $15 for each map pack, thats a bit steep for a all in one purchase for a game.

I dont have a credit card can I pay for the map packs thru steam with a pre paid visa debit card?

I may just buy the game at first then the maps later I dont really know. I do know that cod4 is driving me crazy as the gameplay feels so different and the graphics feel dated compared to MW2 big time. Im bout to youtube it up and watch some videos of the map packs, I havent even loked at any of the maps yet since i dont have the game i had no reason to look at them
 
i played it on ps3 and i liked the maps but new maps is a nice addition, the maps in the stimulus package are cool i like the ones from cod4 that they added in that pack.

I need to decide what map pack to add? I found the game for $49.99 at best buy so I saved $10 from buying it at walmart so I'll add the $5 and get a map pack. I dont know if i should get the first or second map pack tho.

I think alot of people are giving this game too much negative feedback really. Sure with ded servers you have more people in a game but at the same time im tired of sorting thru a shit load of servers trying to find one with low ping and and a decent amount of people. I like how there isnt 52 people in a game anymore that shit drove me crazy in cod4.

well off to the races im gonna go get my copy of mw2 right now. Between mw2 multiplayer and fo3 goty that i havent even started yet Ill be plenty busy for quite awhile, at least these games will look good on my rig without having to upgrade lol..

The Orange Box was 50$ and it has received unparalleled support. And if you use it as the benchmark instead of treating it as an extraordinary case, then every other game (including your favorite games) will fail the same comparison you are applying to MW2.

I would not let those map stop you from buying this map pack, the other maps are really good from what i have seen.

He was reffering to the fact that they opened the maps up in the genreal game modes. At first the maps are just in there seperate game modes consisting of a varitey of game modes but they are always random. kinda like Team Tactical or Mosh pit.

Come to think of it, i think the trailer park joke would be more related to you. As i and most MW2 players can afford the map pack. you on the other hand are always bitching about monry, thus probably only able to afford to live in a nice trailer park. good luck paying rent.

Are both map packs out for pc already or no? i know the stimulus one is but i dont know about the other, im gonna install mw2 tonight after i install fo3 goty. Im gonna be a busy gamer for awhile between these two.

Gotta wait til next week tho before I can get a pre paid visa debit card and buy the one map pack thru steam, it sucks having to pay $30 for maps but in all reality it is so much nicer to have alot of maps, there is what like 9 additional maps in the map packs and thats like having another game worth of maps.

I think as pc gamers we get spoiled and expect free maps but its all good, i guess the ole saying is right huh? you gotta pay to play
 
Even with all the negative hype I hear about this game I still bought it. I had a blast on PS3 with this game online im sure I will like it more on pc with the better graphics. People complain about cheaters but there was even cheaters in cod4 with punkbuster. Cheaters are in probably every pc game, it comes with the territory and its just something stupid we have to deal with.

I got shot in the head with a m9 in cod4 from all the way across the map, I doubt he was good enough to do it as I was running when he got me and I wasnt in the open but I didnt cry about it like most of the wankers would I just chalked it up as a loss and I knifed the guy in the back and tea bagged him later that match lol.
 
I gotta install MW2 tomorrow night around midnight as im spent right now from playing FO3 goty for almost 2 hours, the rig in sig ran FO3 butter smooth on high at 12x7 with no aa/af so im sure mw2 should be a cake walk. I cant wait to get my COD on its been awhile since i played MW2

I've had my own house since I was 22, cause, I'M GUD WIF MY MONEYS, and you said the Trailer Park map was your favorite, it really is easy to see why, given you're willing to buy shitty games and old ass map packs, it leaves you without enough money to rent at anything better than a Trailer Park, no wonder you like the map, it feels like home in it, I bet you know all the good spots too!

They have some good maps in those packs, I played it on 360 today and I liked the maps they were nice..
 
I still haven't installed mw2 yet, i'm doing it tonight damn it. Hopefully there will be alot of people playing it after black ops releases. I'd hate to just now get it and in 5 months no one will be playing it online but then I think there is a shit load of people still playing cod4.

Do you guys think after black ops alot of ppl will still be playing mw2??? I remember when w@w came out it seemed like there wasn't a big difference in ppl playing cod4. Alot of ppl don't like the cod games when treyarch makes them..

To be honest I'm still on the fence wondering if I should install mw2 or just wait and see if black ops is any good or not...
 
If you already bought it just play it. The single player is pretty damn good. Spec Ops is cool but more fun with a buddy. I have no friends so I never play Spec Ops.
 
lol I know I like the game im just gonna be a little mad if there is no one online after black ops comes out. Com fat you talked me into it, between mw2 and fo3 im not gonna need to play anything else for awhile
 
i just read a thread about black ops and it makes me wanna hold off and wait for it, i didnt like a single treyarch made cod tho so this one may keep going like the others ive played. cod3 was butt and W@W was poop the only thing im missin is the crappy smell lol

The shear number of cheaters (e.g. aimbots, wallhacks etc) gets quite ridiculous at times (on many occasions I have been in games with 3+ cheaters, at this point you just have to turn it off and go to bed). Love the game, despise the cheaters and am just not willing to pay $30 for some maps. Still playing the original version and quitting out of a lot of games due to cheaters. If they simply started banning players who cheat, the game would be so much better. A little post-release support...ah to dream.
