new machine board

hey all starting a new machine from scratch, yay
looking at an AM2 processor though have not ruled out intel...yet
and this board
a
DFI - LANPARTY UT nF590 SLI-M2R AM2 DDRII or

will OC later so i was set on the DFI
but the machine will just be a gaming/media type of set up
not looking to run sli as i would rather have a nice graphics card
please let me know your thoughts as id like a few pointers in the right direction!

If you haven't bought yet, I'd get a Intel Core 2 Duo setup. The only reason to get an AM2 setup now is if you're going super budget (e.g. a $95 3600+).

If you're not looking for an SLI board, then just go with a 965 Intel chipset. The Asus P5B-E and the Gigabyte DS3 are popular choices that should work well for you.
