Hi, I'm not really well-versed in notebooks, but I am in the market for a new laptop.

I have a few specifications that my laptop needs to be:

around 15 inch. I do not need a 17 inch laptop, but a 13 would be acceptable.
I am going to use this laptop for general college student uses. I have a gaming pc, so I don't need overly expensive parts. I just want a nice keyboard, display, etc.

My budget is around 600 bucks give or take a hundred.

I was looking at dell.com because I heard they had student discounts, but any input is cool. Sales are cool too.

I'd checkout the Dell Outlet then look at the Dell Latitude D630 as it is one of the better business class notebooks; if you want style you could probably get a good deal on a new xps m1530 or an outlet if they have it; which is sleek and has a gloss screen while the D630 is matte. The xps m1330 isn't bad either if you want a 13" screen.

Dell Outlet is a good choice.

Also, try to get an extended warranty if you can. Laptop repairs are very costly so the extended warranties do pay for themselves over time depending on who you get the extended warranty from.

Then again $600 is kind of cheap enough to forgo the warranty since that is a relatively cheap price to replace.

dell outlet, e6400. Exactly what Im looking at. (3 year warranty by default is nice)
