Friend is looking at getting new PC for roughly $1000. He games most of his time.

Mobo/Ram/CPU/Video/Case

I suggested

CPU - Q6600
Video - 8800GT

but not sure what to suggest for mobo and ram.
 
He was looking at the

Asus P5N32-E

and Kingston HyperX 4GB(2 x 2GB) PC2 6400

from newegg.

- What size monitor does your friend have?
- What power supply is he planning to use with this system?
- What games is he planning to play?
- What features does he need in a motherboard? RAID? 8 SATA ports? Legacy ports? High overclock ability? etc.
- Does that $1000 budget include tax and shipping?

I included the Corsair 550VX PSU because it is of better quality than ANY Antec 500W PSU. And since this a fairly high mid-range rig, don't skimp on the power supply.

Anyway, I didn't include a case because the case choice should be up to your friend. It's his PC after all. He might as well pick out a case that HE likes, not what we like. So have your friend look for any cases he might want.

If you MUST get a quad its $200 at Microcenter if you can get to one. E8400 is also nice since youre not OCing.

STABLE mobo means Intel brand but thats so boring right? ABIT or Gigabyte P35 boards are popular around here.

Memory just get some cheap 2x2GB, probably DDR2-800. G Skill is pretty reasonable.

Also I would get a Corsair over that Antec 500W, even a 450 should be enough for the system.

Lian Li cases are just sleek and minimalistic which is nice. All personal preference though.

Overall I think the $1k limit is a little high, especially since WoW isnt that demanding at all. You should be able to put it all together for less.
