I'm starting to shop around for a new pc that I'll be using to do lots of financial modeling (number crunching)... games aren't that big of a deal for me on this machine... maybe down the road I might add another monitor or so....
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Financial Modeling/Algorithmic Trading
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included? $1000 and no, not included
3) Where do you live? Chicago, IL
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific. CPU, RAM, Case, Power Supply, Motherboard, Cooling, Hard Drive, DVD Drive
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model. Have a Radeon 2600 XT if it can be used
6) Will you be overclocking? Yes as long as I have stability... speed is good for number calculations
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have? 24inch Dell LCD 1900x1200
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Within the next week
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc. Fast and Stable
