Hey everyone I was looking to see if anyone could check out my system I am putting together for a friend of mine. I have been out of the loop for around a year now but I think the build I put together is pretty decent.

Below are the answers to the questions as well as a link to the shared wishlist on Newegg.
Any help would be great.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Mainly Web Design and Gaming.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
~$1500
3) Where do you live?
United States
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, Mobo, RAM, PS, SSD, Gfx Card
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
No Parts, this is a brand new system
6) Will you be overclocking?
It is a possibility but at this point my friend isn't sure.
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
22" Monitor
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
ASAP
9) What features do you need in a motherboard?
RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
SLI or Crossifre, as well as RAID, anything is just extra
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
Yes, Win7 Ultimate 64-bit

List of Parts

some tips:

People like Danny Bui are going to want you to list out the parts. Just expect it.

Also expect to get some crap about your RAM (ocz Golds aren't the best value for their mediocre reliability), your HD, and the vid card.

Recommendation will be to wait a couple weeks to see what the next gen AMD(ati) cards do to the market. You may be able to pick up that 5870 for a significant discount.

Also we need your monitor resolution and expected games for gaming rig recommendations.

I agree.

In addition, that WD1001FALS is totally overpriced for its performance. In fact, it is one of the slowest 1TB hard drives currently on the market in terms of sequential transfer speeds. Even the 5405 rpm WD Green is about as fast (sequential-speed-wise) as that WD1001FALS.

Meh when it's in a Newegg wishlist, I'm not gonna bitch and moan about it. It's only when they just list the newegg links that I'm gonna ask to list out the parts.

Anyway, assuming that the res of that 22" is 1680x1050, I don't see any reason whatsoever for a HD 5870. That's just overkill. Though as sugosugita noted, you might better off waiting a few weeks for the GPU since new AMD cards are gonna hit the market rather soon.

New setup assuming that you have to buy the PC ASAP:
$440 - Intel Core i7 860 CPU + Asus P7P55D-E Pro Intel P55 ATX Motherboard
$300 - 2 x G.Skill Ripjaws F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM
$285 - Corsair 650TX 650W PSU + Gigabyte GV-N460OC-1GI GeForce GTX 460 1GB PCI-E Video Card Combo
$200 - Intel SSDSA2MH080G2R5 2.5" 80GB SSD
$75 - Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
$120 - NZXT Whisper Case
---
Total: $1420 plus tax and shipping.

Key notes:
- Now you get 16GB of RAM right off the bat, rather than the original 6GB of RAM you had earlier
- You now get a faster, better quality, and larger SSD.
- The GTX 460 1GB is more than enough for a 22" monitor
- The Samsung F3 1TB drive is faster than the WD 1TB Black drive you chose.
