Hi Guys,

Going to be building a new gaming rig and wanted to get some advice. Things I am looking for, great gaming performance, subtle style (I'm 30 for goodness sake, no need for glowing bright lights), and relative quietness (again reference the 30).

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included? 2000-3000

3) Which country do you live in? Santa Barbara, CA (not near a microcenter)

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, MOBO, SSD,operating system,

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? I will re use my 24 inch monitor, and peripherals (mouse/keyboard)

6) Will you be overclocking? Not at first ideally but maybe down the line.

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it? 1920 x 1080, 24 inch, may increase my monitor size in the future.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? July

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc. : USB 3.0/Sata 6 gb would be nice.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit? No will need one

Total: $1697 shipped

For gaming at 1980P, the above is more than enough considering that same card can provide great gaming performance at the higher resolution of 2560x1440. So 1080P is no sweat.

As for cases, I recommend these low noise oriented cases:
$112 - Fractal Design Define R4 Arctic White ATX Case
$112 - Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl ATX Case
$114 - Fractal Design Define R4 Titanium Grey ATX Case

$130 - Corsair Obsidian Series 550D ATX Case
$230 - Silverstone FT02B-USB3.0 ATX Case
