Hello all,

I am in the market for a new PC. I used to build my own, but have been away from PC gaming for over a year and a half, and not up on the new technologies etc. Please see below for answers to the required questions as well as proposed build:

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing?
I will be gaming on this PC. I play World of Warcraft, and FPS (Call of Duty, Battlefield etc).

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
I would like to stay under $1200 including tax and shipping (not including monitor).

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
I live in the United States (Seattle).

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget?
CPU, RAM, Video Card, Power Supply, Motherboard, Case, Hard Drive.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing?
Steelseries keyboard and mouse, Creative Soundblaster Titanium HD, CD Drive/Burner.

6) Will you be overclocking?
I would like to get a bit of a speed boost if possible.

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
I need a new monitor.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Within the next 2 weeks.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard?
USB3.0, SATA 6Gb/s, Overclocking ability,

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license?
Windows 7 Pro 64bit.

Do you need or want a modular PSU?
Which Corsair RAM is that?

I would ditch the OCZ PSU due to its low quality. As for what PSU to get, need you to answer my earlier question above before I can make a recommendation.

I would also ditch that OCZ SSD due to OCZ's poor customer support and SSD track record. I would stick with the Samsung 830 or Crucial M4 series DADs.

I made some changes to the original build. Also, I am thinking about getting another monitor. I have one of the older Apple 23" LCD displays, but when compared to newer monitors the colors look faded/bland. If anybody has recommendations for a monitor and/or any other hardware changes, let me know.

what is your desired resolution and price range?

the u2412m is an excellent option, especially if you have only used matte monitors.
 
I am trying to determine what would be better...1080P or 1440P? I color quality is important, as is no ghosting effects on the monitor. For a decent monitor, I would probably spend around $500.
 
Right, so you have $1000 for the computer and a separate $500 for the monitor? So two budgets. $1000 and $500?
