1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
This will be the main home computer, so lots of browsing, gaming (Civ V, MW3, Battlefield [latest...]), some video editing. I may also engage this machine for some computer consulting, so I wouldn't mind i7 vs i5 but depends on what that does to budget.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$1,200.00 before taxes/shipping, can increase if needed.

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Indianapolis (5 mins from the Fry's if there are any deals there)

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, RAM, mobo, GPU, PSU, CD Drive, SSD

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model
Antec P180

6) Will you be overclocking?
Not a requirement, but might like the option if it's as easy as it seems these days.

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
Currently 19" 1280X1024. Will be moving to 24-27" 2560X1440 or possible UHD.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Will order parts as soon as I get advice. Can wait up to a month if there is a compelling reason to.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
Nothing specific

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Yes, Windows 8.1 64bit

Thanks!

$1268.87 Base
$1208.87 with rebates

If there's a microcenter near you, this could be alot cheaper. Also I suggest you wait maybe another month because they will be releasing the GTX 980s, and you can take a look at the reviews then. I included a CPU Cooler in the build, unless you had your own then you can just take it out.

The only problem I see with that bundle is that you are only getting one Ram stick so no dual channel memory benefits. Not sure on the performance difference you would see.

As far as the 280x vs 290 you are basically talking about 10-15fps on BF4 at 2560x1440
so from 32 to 47 ish
(http://anandtech.com/show/8460/amd-radeon-r9-285-review/10)
or 45 to 60 ish on Bioshock Infinite

So maybe about 25% more performance

Shoot, wasn't paying attention on that RAM on that combo.

Ready to pull the trigger:

Doing all at Amazon due to Prime 2-day.

I'm a little concerned about the memory since the specs on Amazon seem vague. Are there any voltage concerns here?

Thanks!

No real voltage concerns in regards to the RAM. Kingston shaped up a few years ago in regards to RAM voltage. With that said, I'd rather save $5 and get the same real world performance while allowing for a possible RAM upgrade to 32GB with this set of RAM:
$75 - Kingston HyperX FURY HX316C10F/8 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM

As for the rest of build, it's a solid build as long as you're 100% likely to overclock the PC and/or plan on doing some sort of multi-GPU setup. Here's what a non-overclock capable PC would look like:
$210 - Intel Core i5-4690K CPU
$88 - Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H Intel H97M mATX Motherboard
$75 - Kingston HyperX FURY HX316C10F/8 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM
$370 - Gigabyte R9 290 4GB PCI-E video Card
$210 - Crucial MX100 512GB SSD
$80 - Seasonic G Series SSR-550RM 550W Modular PSU
$29 - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo HSF
---
Total: $1062

So about $150 cheaper and basically performs the same as your planned build at stock speeds. So to justify that extra $150, you really have to start overclocking.

Also, is the upper hard drive bay in your P180 being used? The Gigabyte R9 290 is a pretty long card and you will have to remove that upper bay in order to fit in the R9 290

Thanks Dangman, I was able to dig around on the Kingston RAM and determine it was 1.5V. PcPartPicker had just made a note to verify it, hence my question.

Trigger is pulled and I have gone with the parts in my list, so I will be overclocking.

Thanks for the tip on the upper bay and the 290. I will take care of that as well.

Thanks all!
