Here is my build so far: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/1REKB

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($244.99 @ NCIX)

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ NCIX)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($134.99 @ NCIX)

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($81.98 @ Amazon Canada)

Storage: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($88.99 @ NCIX)

Storage: Western Digital WD Green 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($89.95 @ DirectCanada)

Video Card: PowerColor Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card ($284.99 @ NCIX)
Case: Antec One ATX Mid Tower Case ($47.99 @ NCIX)

Power Supply: EVGA 600B 600W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power
Supply ($39.99 @ NCIX)

Total: $1043.86

I've been asking advice and it was recommended that a different video card and power supply should be chosen. As well as ram, because it may not fit. So any recommendations on those components would be appreciated.

Yeah, get a different PSU. Go for the XFX Pro550W 550W PSU instead:
http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=59615&vpn=P1550SXXB9&manufacture=XFX&promoid=1313

Case wise, I recommend getting the Corsair 200R instead since it's a tad bit roomier.

Ditch the SSD and go with the more reputable Samsung 840 120GB:

Ditch that HDD as well and go with the faster Seagate for a little more:
http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=66010&vpn=ST2000DM001

I would spend the extra cash for the less quirky Asus Z87-A:
http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=84500&vpn=Z87-A&manufacture=ASUS&promoid=1313

That RAM is probably a bad choice if it's not the low profile Vengeance RAM. I recommend this cheaper RAM instead (Get it ASAP as it's on sale):

Hey thanks for taking the time to look through my build! Here is my updated build, if you think I could do better please tell me.

Again, stick with the higher performing and more than likely higher quality Samsung 840 120GB. Besides that, looks solid to me.

OK I will order the Samsung. I was looking at this MOBO which is currently on sale and the Asus board doesn't seem to have any significant advantages over the Gigabyte. Would you still recommend the Asus?

I would still recommend the Asus after reading these two reviews, one of the D3H and ther other of the Z87-A:

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/06/03/asus_z87a_lga_1150_motherboard_review/

The Asus got a Gold Award from this site. The D3H did not get any such award.
