New search server went online tonight. We KNOW there are some issues with it. We are going to make sure the box is stable for a few days before we correct the little issues. But we still need to know what issues you are seeing. Please post them here, and we will look into getting them corrected this weekend. Thanks for your help.

So far I've experienced great performance and no issues. Search has even worked for me.

It's been 5 hours since you promised our funny pictures back. I'm getting scared over here chief. :p

I did try search out and it is working great as far as I can tell. Good luck with the maintenance, hopefully she stays stable this time. :D

Looking good so far, will probably check again sometime this weekend.

I just got a database error reporting a post. I know this happened before too but thought I'd mention it here.

What was the error exactly? Please post the error here next time if you got any specifics.

I got an error when replying to a thread (clicking "post reply"). This is the same error I got before when reporting a thread.

Recently when I try and reply to a thread the forum asks me to sign-in. I type in my Username and P.W. and click log-in, but then the page automatically redirects me back to the sign-in page. It happens over and over again. And yes, I am using the correct user account information.

The weird thing is after the 1st inital sign-in and after it redirects me back to the sign-in page again, if I skip it and click in the upper left portion of the forum to click back to the [Hard]Forum, it says that I'm logged in on the opposite side in the upper right corner. So after seeing that I'm logged in, I try to reply to a thread and the same thing happens again. It's like a never ending cycle for me.

Everything else seems to be working.

Clear your cookies and browswer history. I have seen this happen before and it has always been an issue on the client/browser end.

Gracias Kyle! Cleaning out my browsing history, etc. fixed the issue. Thanks dude

So, has the funniest picture thread been revived yet? Search turned up nothing for me so I assume not.

Which leads me to my next question: Will it be revived? I'm lost without it. :(

Forum just stopped responding alltogether for about 10 mins, connections timed out. Just came back online about 2 mins before this post.

Was out of the office. Could you reach HardOCP.com at that time????

Not sure if this sticky is the best place for this, or if you are aware of the issue already, but for some reason, regular searches only go back to about 7/31/07. However, the "Find all posts by / Find all threads started by" links in users' public profiles are able to break that barrier. For example, someone was looking for the "Loser Recipes" thread in GenMay. A regular search returns no relevant results when searching for the thread title in General Mayhem and subdirectories in the advanced search. I knew I posted in it, so I clicked to find all posts by uzor from my public profile, click to the middle somewhere to get posts earlier than last July (if you know the dates better, it would go faster), then just start scanning the pages for the thread you're looking for. That's how I was able to find the thread link above. This has been going on for quite some time, but with all the other search / forum issues, I figured it was an artifact of the problems and would be taken care of once all the hardware / software issues had been straightened out.

This isn't strictly a [H]ard|Forum issue, but I just got a "no website configured at this address" message on hardocp.com. It went away with a refresh.

When you recive a pm, from various members it states 38.2 years :(

Why do I now get a message stating the you need a minimum of 50 posts to post in the "For Sale / Trade" forum?

"vBulletin Message
A minimum post count of 50 is required to post in the "For Sale / Trade" forum."

Is this a new rule? If so, not exactly a nice thing to do. Please fix this.
