New Eizo EV2335.

Looking at the specs of the EV2335, I would hazard to guess that it uses the same panel as the new Foris FS2332, which was rated by prad.de as "sehr gut". This particular review will be unlocked on Monday from what I can gather.

I will guess the same, same panel, but same panels doesn't mean same quality or same performance.

Personally I had both monitors not for personal use, I have seen both monitors,
EV2333 is really slower than EV2335 but it is much more sharp, really deeper blacks and you feel the better contrast.

Thanks for the input, i'm leaning towards th EV2333 now since i don't actually do that much gaming anymore, hence the response time won't be much of a problem.

if the response time isn't a problem I think that EV2333 will be a better choice.
reading the specs you'll became mad, I seen both, side by side, EV2333 has better image under every aspect. I have seen calibrated monitors.

Haha, i know what you mean by mad, i've been reading about monitors for 2 years now and i still haven't bought one! xD

My CRT is kinda dying though... so i really have to purchase one soon.

Personally I see many monitors in this period and with my taste, if you have >= 400€ you can't be wrong with Eizo or NEC.
In my country we generally prefer EIZO since they have similar price with NEC but it all depends from your budget.

My budget is basically €500 or so. I'd rather spend less. The EV2333 actually only costs €275 here and the EV2335 is about the same. =D

I'm gonna go look at the EV2333 on monday cause i noticed that a store close-by has one in stock.

EV2333 at 275€?
WHere? give me a dozen please

Here in Sweden, i don't know why they're so cheap here compared to other places.

That's incredible. Wow.
What is the price of the S2433W there?

Here in italy/germany the EV23xx series varies from 380€ to 500€.
The S2433W is sold at 600-700€...

It's around 600 here too, it's just the Foris (not the FX2431 though...) and EV monitors that are cheaper for some reason i think.

The FX2431 has the same panel of my S2433 and similar performance also.
In any case, for 275€, if you don't cosider spending 600€, can you buy a better monitor?

Don't forget that EIZO monitors is problem free monitors, no backlight bleed, no uniformity problem, good factory calibration.

An EIZO for 275€, there is nothing to argue, buy it.
EV2333 vs EV2335. I'm not an expert, I have seen side by side, EV2333 is ridiculously sharper than EV2335, ridiculously better in terms of contrast and black levels, ridiculously slower.

Make you choice :D

Why not get both a EV2335 and ev2333 and have the best of both worlds? Only slightly over budget...

Since you (a long time ago) said you faced problems with calibrating two of the same Eizo monitors to identical levels, this statement "problem free" surprises me somewhat.
As to uniformity/leakage it's still a gamble, as it is with any brand. The CG243W reviewed by flatpanelshd had leakage, and the FS2332 showed even worse leakage.... So if I had to choose Eizo again, it would be the EV2333 (despite calibration issues), since it really tends to receive positive feedback from all I've heard who owns it. :)

I ordered the FS2332 a while ago and it also included a hardware calibration tool (similar model as a spider 3 express). I don't know if one is included in the EV2335 but that might also explain some of the price difference.

When I tryed to calibrate my two S2433W one of this monitor was defective and I changed the monitor for a new one, now they are perfect.
In total I had four S2433W and they were identical by each other for the exception of the defective one immediately changed for a new one by eizo.

Are you joking about leakage?
FlatpanelsHD says: "Eizo CG243W has no clouding issues whatsoever and this is very positive. This is probably one of the best results from any LCD monitor today."

And judge from yourself (the even worse leakage) if the leakage present in the FS2332 is something to warry about on a monitor of this price range.

Are you joking about leakage?
Partly, no, partly yes.
Did you see the image? I forgot it was seen on http://www.flatpanels.dk/test.php?subaction=showfull&id=1281424039, because this image apparently wasn't included in the English version. Whatever the "reviewer" says doesn't matter when it doesn't match with the image (leakage at two points along the top with about 40% brighter "black"). Remember that the base black level in that image is 0.19 nits. So if you saw this image at longer shutter speeds that one would normally use to illustrate how 0.19 nits would look like in a dark room, it would be more obvious.

Look, I was just having a go at how "brand X" monitors were problem/defect free with no backlight leakage. So was the CG243W free of backlight leakage? No.
Is the level of bleed enough to bother people? For 99% of users, no.
All in all a great monitor, but it doesn't follow with your claim. :)

My claim is perfectly correct since there is no Eizo users who complain about leakage in real use neither the cheap one without compensation.
Leakage is a problem when is present, not a problem when you need to use a camera in a dark room and with a long exposure to see it.
The CG243 is one of the most uniform LCD monitor yet so if you are not joking you are incorrect.

You'll always be able to find users complaining about issues on any brand of monitor - higher sales => more reports (good and bad).
But let's just end it at this point at which it seems like we got different quality standards, so you are not incorrect and neither am I. I'm just demanding that for $2,000 or €1450 that this particular sample should appear without leakage (visible or not), because that's what I paid them for.

No manufacturer sells a monitor with backlight illumination and advertise it for ZERO uniformity issue. So probably you should lower your expectations. In any case there are no conditions where this can be a problem when working. I admit that this may disturb you and I can understand this :)

First you said this ^ (in red)

Now you're saying this ^

I'm not saying this to insult you, but possibly because English is your second language you are not articulating yourself properly.

No manufacturer is perfect, no such thing as a problem free monitor. Case closed.

I repeat that I haven't heard an Eizo user complaining about uniformity issue.
Obviously the perfect uniformity isn't possible but I never heard a customer who complained about bad uniformity differently from what we hear often on other brands.
Obviously a defective EIZO is possible but at least, is rare.
