New Drive, suggestions needed

I been thinking about a new drive for awhile for storage reasons then was thinking about getting a SATA drive and make it my main drive and use my 200 gig ide seagate for a storage one. i currently have the 200 as my main, and 2 80 gig deathstars, and also a little 60 gig WD i'm going to throw out when i get another drive. Should i go with the WD 250 gig ata100 drive at outpost for 100 dollars, buy a new SATA drive to make my system faster, or wait on the new SATA's. i know the 7200.8's will be out in a few months if they don't keep pushing the date back. Currently i'm fine with only 420 gigs of storage but would like more, is SATA worth the cost right now or should i just buy the 250 WD?
 
It's worth waiting for the 7200.8 just because it's a Seagate. It won't run at a million degrees and die in a year like some western brand.

I hope your not referring to Western Digital. It's pretty much a known industry fact that they use the best drive internals, leading to the most reliable drives in existence. Any major industrial analyst firm will tell you that. I'm not going to rag on Seagate, despite having several of them crap out very soon after usage, leading me back to WD.

What I am others would appreciate if you state something as a fact when it's only based on your single opinion....especially when that opinion goes against popular beliefs. I personally wouldn't trust my data on anything but WD. Does that make me right and you wrong...certainly not. But if your going to crap on a brand, make sure you state it's your opinion, and not fact. Noobs get led the wrong way too often on here.

For warranty claims as % of product salses Warrantyweek.com reports Maxtor is at 4.6%, Seagate 2.5%, and Western at 1.6%

But thanks for showing us your ignorance in this subject anyways.......
